Vision and Mission Statement To joyfully live the Gospel by

knowing, loving, and serving God and one another.

We are a Catholic Community of faith that welcomes every person to grow in holiness and draw closer to Jesus Christ through:

Worship and Evangelization

Faith Formation and Education

Works of Charity and Justice

...every day and at every stage of life.

May we embrace our mission as messengers of God’s love by our words and actions that boldly demonstrate

that every human life is cherished and chosen.

On Jan. 22, 1973, the U.S. Supreme Court's Roe v. Wade and Doe v. Bolton decisions legalized abortion on demand nationwide. Each year, pro-life Minnesotans mark the anniversary of Roe and Doe with the Prayer Service for Life at the Cathedral and the MCCL March for Life at the state Capitol in St. Paul. The purpose is to commemorate the 60 million+ lives lost to abortion (and the women and men who have been hurt as a result) and to call for renewed prayer, respect and protection for unborn children and their mothers.

See details in bulletin.

What Mass Means: How Sacrifice and Real Presence Are Life-Changing

We tend to think of “sacrifice” and “real presence” as doc-trines to believe in – perhaps with some vague awareness of complicated medieval terms such as “transubstantiation.” But the logic of the liturgies of the various Christian traditions, and the whole point of the Vatican II renewal, is that our liturgical sharing in Christ’s dying and rising is meant to transform us individually and communally. The implications are huge! Thursday, January 28, Webinar presentation from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Event is Free. Registration is required (register at least five days in advance of the event); please visit www.collegevilleMN.com/theologyday, call 320-363-3560, or email [email protected] to register.

©LPi

The Prayer Process

A true understanding of stewardship begins with taking care of and sharing the gift of prayer.

1. Gratitude: Begin by thanking God in a personal dialogue for whatever you are most grateful for today.

2. Awareness: Revisit the times in the past twenty-four hours when you were and were not the best version of your-self. Talk with God about these situations and what you learned from them.

3. Significant Moments: Identify something you experienced today and explore what God might be trying to say to you through that event (or person).

4. Peace: Ask God to forgive you for any wrong you have committed (against yourself, another person, or him) and to fill you with a deep and abiding peace.

5. Freedom: Speak with God about how he is inviting you to change your life, so that you can experience the freedom to be the best version of yourself.

6. Others: Lift up to God anyone you feel called to pray for today, asking God to bless and guide them.

7. Finish by praying the Our Father.

8. The Prayer Process provides a consistent format to guide us in our daily prayer. Each of the first six steps in the process should stimulate a conversation with God. The more deeply rooted we become in the daily habit of prayer,

the more those conversations with God will spill over into the moments of our daily life.
