As the BPM project progresses it is becoming more important that we

get feedback about the systems we are putting in place. This is to ensure

practices that are not only beneficial for the mine’s sustainability but for

the Bakubung Ba Ratheo community as well.

One of the sounding boards for the mining sector is the parliament’s

Portfolio Committee on Mineral Resources. The BPM project has had an

honour of getting a visit from a delegation of this committee led by its

Chairperson, Mr. Luzipho. The visit, which took place on Tuesday, 27

June, afforded us an opportunity to showcase what the company does

to build relations with its key stakeholders.

In providing details about the company and the project, a presentation

gave a background on where the project is currently, giving details on

funding, Capital (CAPEX) and operational costs (OPEX), performance

against SLP, transformation as well as the technical aspects of the

project.

The company also had an opportunity to raise some of the challenges

experienced being a junior miner in the current economic state and

building a mine within a community.

The visit was what the company needed to confirm that BPM as a mine

that is not tainted by the legacy of the past, is on the right track in

building towards sustainable futures for the benefit of all involved.

We hope you enjoy reading this edition of Investor news and we look

forward to keeping you updated on all the latest project developments.

BPM Phase 1 commissioning

Work at the BPM project is progressing well towards the project’s

commissioning of Phase 1. The Phase 1 commissioning strategy involves

two parts: Part A and Part B. Part A is the commissioning of the hoisting

system and Part B is the commissioning of the ground handling system

from 69 to 72 to 77 level and onto the loading box feed conveyor. Each

system is explained in detail in the following section:

Part A: Shaft Hoisting System.

This system involves the following sub-systems:

- 77 Level tail end conveyor loading arrangement

- 77 Level Conveyor CV-002

- 77 Level Loading Box

- Skips installed and roped up

- Surface Rock Silo

- Surface Conveyor CV-001

Commissioning of this system will allow hoisting of rock from 77 level to

surface and is currently forecast for September 2017.

Part B: 69/72 Leave Ore Transport System

This system involves the following sub-systems:

- Ore Pass from 72 to 77 level raisebored

- Ore Pass from 69 to 72 level raisebored

- Tip and rock breaker on 69 level

- Tip and rock breaker on 72 level

- Box front on 77 level ore pass.

- 77 level conveyor CV-001 (feeding CV-002)

Commissioning of Part B will allow hoisting of rock from 69 and 72 level

out the main shaft and will allow a total production of 50 000 tonnes per

month when the system is fully proven. This is currently forecast for

March 2018.

The annual Junior Indaba, for explorers, developers and

investors in junior mining in Africa, took place on Wednesday,

07 and Thursday, 08 June 2017 at the Johannesburg Country

Club. The conference saw CEOs, entrepreneurs, investors

and mining professionals who all contributed to making it an

experience, both with the engaging discussions and the

informal networking.

Wesizwe’s Projects executive, Mr. Jacob Mothomogolo was

also part of the thought provoking discussions that took

place in the conference. Presenting on a topic - Being a

Junior Miner in the current economy: Wesizwe Platinum’s

Bakubung Platinum Mine project, his presentation provided

a status of the BPM project, guidelines for other junior miners

and explorers intending to be junior miners. Also, he touched

on investment highlights, production profile as well as

resources and reserves for the BPM.

Some of the highlights included Lessons from the Legends,

which had the audience fascinated by their life and career

experiences, words of wisdom and many industry insights.

Amongst all the good cheer and engaging discussions was

a more serious note about South Africa’s future. Amongst the

attendees were the Chamber of Mines’ CEO, Mr. Roger

Baxter, who joined in the constructive engagement with his

vision and proactive initiatives of South Africa’s Chamber of

Mines.

The message left by delegates in the conference was a very

clear one – no time for pessimism, let’s get on with the

business.
