The Conference programme will focus on regulatory matters in the healthcare environment as well as global and local industry trends. Best wishes The HPCSA Team HPCSA NATIONAL CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS Sunday 18 August 2019 Delegates attending the HPCSA National Conference can register at the main reception of the Emperors Palace Conference Centre from 13:00. The Conference kicks off with an opening ceremony at 17:00 in the Senate Rooms lead by the Minister of Health Dr Mkhize. Monday 19 August 2019 Keynote speaker for the day, Director General of Health, Ms Matsoso, will address the Conference on The role of the regulator in universal health coverage. The session is followed by a panel discussion on the impact of the current ethical rules to ensure a sustainable health care system. The afternoon features a series of breakaway sessions exploring perspectives on the workforce environment, the required skills and capabilities, the role of education and training systems in preparing the health practitioners of tomorrow. The day will conclude with a plenary session on an Integrated model for CPD and Maintenance of Licence presented by Prof Singh followed by the HPCSA Health Awards 2019, recognising excellence and celebrating the future of Healthcare Regulation, officiated by the Deputy Minister of Health Dr Phaahla. Tuesday 20 August 2019 Dr Khama Rogo, World Bank Lead Health Sector Specialist and Head of Health in Africa Initiative from the World Bank Group, will present the keynote address on Good health and well- being – why it matters? What is our role in achieving this goal? The following panel discussion focuses on ethical practice, legislative mandates, guidelines and advocacy. The days' breakaway sessions will look at the health regulators vision for the future, trends and new regulatory models and its impact on ethics, digital innovation and the wave of the 4th industrial revolution. The afternoon will feature the launch of the HPCSA Ethical booklets followed by a talk by HPCSA Registrar/CEO Dr Billa and closing remarks by HPCSA President Dr Letlape.
