Welcome to the Hollinger Land & Cattle Bull SaleWelcome to our second annual bull and female sale, we couldn’t be more excited as this the first

year to have it right here at our farm. The cattle will be comfortable in their own pen for your viewing pleas-

ure, thus giving us more time to visit with you, our customers. This sale has been a dream of mine for

many years. Our 2014 offering is one that we are very proud to offer to you. As a bit of an added attraction

this year we offered all our past customers, the opportunity to consign some commercial females to our

sale. They will be sold in pens of 3 and will be here sale day for you to assess. These females have been

selected from the very heart of their breeding programs. We thank you again for your support and confi-

dence in our breeding program.

The bulls on offer, we feel are a very solid, consistent group that have been selected for calving

ease, growth and over all soundness as well as maternal strengths. We are very excited about our group

of bulls sired by JL Warden 1220. We feel they are some of the very best we have raised to date. The

other sire groups represented include Double D Alliance 74u, Justamere Luther 960w, TC Aberdeen, Jus-

tamere Bada Bing 406s, and our newest addition to our

bull battery Justamere Impact 244y. Our bulls are fed a

rolled ration from co-op feeds as well as top quality ce-

real silage and free choice grass hay. We feel these

bulls have been developed to last. They are not

pushed, but still perform well and are reaching their full

genetic potential. For this year’s sale we decided to

offer replacement females of our own. We dug deep

into our heifer pen and are confident these females are

going to go home and go to work for you. Each heifer is

straight out of our replacement pen and we stand be-

hind our sale offering 100%.

We would like to invite everyone out to our farm

on sale day March 24, be sure to come early to check

out the offering and enjoy some lunch and refresh-

ments. Also we are planning a viewing on the afternoon

of Sunday March 23. We will have snacks and refresh-

ments and look forward to visiting with you. If for some

reason you are unable to be with us sale day and there is

something we can help you with don’t hesitate to give my-

self or any of our sale staff a call. Our sale will also be

broadcast live on DLMS.ca. On behalf of dad and me,

we’d like to thank our entire family Josh, Mel, Mom, Kevin,

and Grandpa and Grandma, for all of your hard work

and dedication to our program. Also thank you to Mark

Piller for his countless hours spent working on show

and sale cattle as well as everything else he does

around here. And the many others that give a helping

hand year in and year out, we appreciate it very much.

We are very pleased to offer three pens of three heifers for sale at the firston farm Hollinger Land and Cattle “Little Hussies” Open heifer sale. Allnine where born in March of 2013 and sired off Double D 21M Bandolier103S, Double D 23P Everclear 61S and Double D 54M Alliance 30S. Inour opinion, these are the best heifers from our 2013 calf crop, as we arenot keeping any back this year.Our history in the beef industry started in 2003 when we purchased 20bred heifers from the Clarke’s at Spy Hill. We have purchase quality pure-bred and cross bred animals along the way and now have 115 cows andheifers to calve this spring. We are a firm believer in purchasing only qual-ity sires. We look for good dispositions, easy calving and performance. Our farm includes 2500 acres of grain land 500 acres of pasture and sev-eral custom operations, just to fill in the quiet times. Little Hussies Replacement HeifersOur commercial cow herd consists of 110 angus x cows. We have been using Angus aswell as Simmental bulls on these Angus type females. Our goal is to have a moderateframed cow that calves easily, and is highly productive. Cross breeding gives us the op-portunity to utilize many of the great aspects of each breed, to produce females that aregreat mothers as well as great milkers, and steer calves that push the scale down and feedeasily. As well due to our smaller number of Purebred females, our commercial herdgives us the opportunity to do some Embryo Trans-plant work, and in turn this helps us to producemore registered calves that we know will be raised
