Welcome to the Hollinger Land & Cattle Bull SaleWe would like to welcome you

to our 3rd Annual Bull and Select Female Sale. 2014 a

nd 2015 have

been two very exciting years to be in the cattle busines

s. Record high prices week in and week out, have cre-

ated quite a buzz in the cattle world. Once again, our s

ale will be held at the farm on Monday March 23 2015 a

t

1:00 pm. The sale offering this year is more consistent

and powerful that ever before. As well, carrying on the

tradition, we will once again have an awesome set of “L

ittle Hussies” commercial replacement females. For any

one looking to expand their herd, this is an excellent op

portunity as these females come from some of the mos

t

reputable cattlemen and women in the business. Like la

st year, the heifers will be offered to you in groups of

three and will be on display at the sale for your assess

ment. This year we feel the quality runs deep in our sa

le

offering from start to finish; there will be bulls and fema

les that we are confident will be sound breeders and th

at

will work in any program.

As I said before, it is an exciting time to be in the cattle

business. This year for us was possibly the most

rewarding year we have had. As many of you know, ou

r cattle operation is a huge part of what we do; whethe

r

it’s at home making hay, calving cows, or on the road a

t a cattle show, we always strive to do our best. This

year all the hard work payed off. We had an excellent show se

ason this

past November, winning many classes and divisions. I t

hink I speak for

my whole family and crew, when I say the most humbli

ng of all the

awards won, was being named Premier Breeder as well

as Premier

Exhibitor in our National Angus Show at Canadian Western Agribition.

It takes many hours of hard work and time spent with th

e cattle right

from breeding, through calving, to sale day. It could not

all be possible

without our excellent crew who work very hard to make

it all happen.

This year, as a special addition to our sale, we are plea

be working with Roger Reynolds of CSI Angus as our G

uest consigner.

His bulls have been fed alongside ours, right from wea

ning, and they

are a great addition to the sale offering. Like last year w

e will also be

selling a select group of purebred replacement females

. They are an

excellent group that are out of top-producing cows that

will go home

and work hard for you. The sale cattle are available

for viewing any time, and they will

all be on display on Sunday March 22nd. We invite you that afternoon

and evening, to come and view the offering. Please join

we were having a good year in the cattle industry. We were getting ready for the HLC first sale at the new sale barn on the farm. We all were

nervous but we had a great sale. Now, one year later—WOW! This cattle market is on fire! We have seen record-high prices this past fall and

through the beginning of 2015, and still the cattle market forecast looks stronger than ever!At Hollinger Land and Cattle, they too are following the cattle market trend—they are on FIRE! With a record attendance (barn-filling),

Once again we are very pleased and excited, to be part of the 3rdannual Hollinger Land and Cattle “Little Hussies” open replacement heifersale. Our heifers for this years sale are March born females that we feel arestronger then ever before. We’ve assembled three, very uniform groups thatwe are confident will go on to be great mother cows.

Our family farm is located 2 miles north of Lemberg. Myself Den-nis, along with my parents Murray and Debbie, sister Janelle, and our greatlead hand Dan Schierer operate the farm consisting of 2500 acres of grainland and our cow herd that we have built to 115 cows. We believe strongly inpurchasing quality seed stock genetics, and sourcing cattle that are sound,calve easily, and that display a great deal of performance. When we aren’t busywith the many jobs and chores that come with our grain and cattle operation,we also have a couple side lines including; building portable steel panels, calfshelters, and silage feeders, as well as custom grain cleaning. Little Hussies Replacement HeifersLD Stock Farms is Located 2 miles west and 2 miles south of

Neudorf. It is a family run operation consisting of 450-500 Simmen-tal/Angus based females. We currently breed using red and blackAngus as well as red and black Simmental Bulls.

The Heifers that we are consigning are out of our spring calv-ing program, and are born in April and May. Our cattle are on a fullherd health program, they are vaccinated in the spring and fall withBOVI-SHIELD GOLD ONE SHOT, TASVAX 8, and also treatedwith IVOMEC in the fall. These heifers have been developed on 30 lbsof Oats/Barley silage, 4 lbs of rolled barley and free choice hay.

Located in the Qu'appelle Valley, north of Sintuluta. We run a smallherd of 30 cows which are Hereford, Angus, Simmental cross. Thetwo pens of heifers consigned, were born the end of March and intoApril and are all sired by angus bulls. They have been vaccinated withVista Once and Fermicon7/Somagen at one month old and again inDecember of 2014, as well they were Ivomeced in December. Our commercial cow herd consists of 110 Angus x cows. We have been using Angus aswell as Simmental bulls on these Angus type females. Our goal is to have a moderateframed cow that calves easily, and is highly productive. Cross breeding gives us the oppor-tunity to utilize many of the great aspects of each breed, to produce females that aregreat mothers as well as great milkers, and steer calves that push the scale down and feedeasily. As well due to our smaller number of Purebred females, our commercial herd givesus the opportunity to do some Embryo Transplant work, and in turn this helps us to pro-duce more registered calves that we know will be raised by our highly productive crossbred cows.
