He was the librettist for Carnival (Drama Critics Circle Award) and Hello, Dolly! which won him both a Tony and Drama Critics prizes. He also wrote the books for George M! (with Francine and John Pascal) Mack & Mabel, The Grand Tour and 42nd Street (with Mark Bramble), Harri-gan and Hart, I Love My Wife and the lyrics for Barnum.JERRY HERMAN (Music and Lyrics) Raised in Jersey City by musically inclined parents, Herman learned to play piano at an early age, and the three frequently attended Broadway mu-sicals. At the age of 17, Herman was introduced to Frank Loesser who, after hearing material he had written, urged him to continue composing. He attended the University of Miami, which has one of the nation’s most avant garde theater de-partments. After graduating, Herman moved to New York. In 1960, Herman made his Broad-way debut with the revue From A to Z, which featured contributions from newcomers Woody Allen and Fred Ebb as well. That same year pro-ducer Gerard Oestreicher asked if he would be interested in composing the score for a show about the founding of the state of Israel. The re-sult was his first full-fledged Broadway musical, Milk and Honey. In 1964, producer David Mer-rick united Herman with Carol Channing for a project that was to become one of his most suc-cessful, Hello, Dolly! The original production ran for 2,844 performances, the longest running

musical for its time, and was later revived three times. Hello, Dolly! swept the Tony Awards that season, winning 10, a record that remained unbroken for 37 years. In 1966, Herman’s next musical was the smash hit Mame starring Ange-la Lansbury. Although not commercial success-es, Dear World (1969), Mack & Mabel (1974) and The Grand Tour (1979) are noted for their fascinating concepts and their melodic, memo-rable scores. Herman considers Mack & Mabel his personal favorite score and both Dear World and Mack & Mabel have developed a cult fol-lowing among Broadway aficionados. In 1983, Herman had his third mega-hit with La Cage Aux Folles which broke box office records at the Palace Theatre and earned Herman yet another Tony Award for best musical. It is the only musi-cal to win the Tony Award for best revival of a musical twice (2004 and 2010), and therefore is the only show to win a best musical award for every staged Broadway production. JEFFREY B. MOSS (Director) is an award winning director — both in America and around the globe — whose work includes the develop-ment of new plays and musicals such as Before The Dream by Charles Strouse and Leslie Lee, Passin’ It On by Larry Atlas and Terry Cash-man, The Jazz Club by John Nassivera, Mer-maids, based on the MGM film and Charles Strouse’s Real Men as well as the staging of many national and international tours includ-ing Peter Pan, The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas, Music Of The Night, Annie, West Side Story, 42nd Street, Annie Get Your Gun, Mame, A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum and Man Of La Mancha.
