Grind on demand buttonPositionthegrouphandleintothegrouphandlelocator,pushagainstthebuttonandfreshlygroundcoffeewillflowdirectlyintothebasket,pullthehandleawayandgrindingwillstop.
Preparation mat
Positionedunderthegrindingspoutthepreparationmatisidealforcatchingloosecoffeegrindswhilefillingdirectlyintothegrouphandle.
Rubber feet
Thenon-sliprubberfeetensurethegrinderremainsstableandpreventsslippingonthebenchtopduringuse.

Beforeusingthecoffeegrinder,wipethebaseexteriorwithadampcloth.Washthebeanhopper,hopperlidandgroundcoffeecontainerinwarmsoapywater,thenrinseanddry.
Note:Donotimmersetheburrsinwateroranyotherliquid.
Note: Donotplaceanypartsofthecoffeegrinderinthedishwasher.
1.Placethecoffeegrinderbaseonadry,levelsurface.
Note: Alwaysensurethatthecollarisattachedtothecoffeegrinderbasefirst,thenattachthebeanhopper.
2.Positionthecollarsothatthenotchonthecollarisalignedwiththearrowontherearofthegrinderbase. Seefigure1
3.Nowattachthebeanhopper.Insertthebeanhopperbyaligningthenotchesonthebaseofthehopperwiththeguidesontheinsideofthecollar.Positionuntilthehoppersitsflat.Seefigure2.
4.Tolockthecollarandbeanhopperintoplace,holdthecollarandturnitclockwiseuntilthe‘UNLOCK’buttonreleases. Seefigure3.
5.Fillthebeanhopperwithcoffeebeans.
Tip:Remembertokeepthehopperfullatalltimes.Havinganevenweightbearingdownontheburrsisimportanttoensureaconsistentgrind.
Note:Thiscoffeegrinderisintendedtogrindwholecoffeebeansonly.
6.Placethehopperlidontothebeanhopper.
7.Plugthepowercordintoa230-240VACpoweroutletandswitchthepoweron.

11.Whenthebasketisfull,pullthegrouphandleoffthebutton.Collapsethecoffeeinthebasketbytappingitonthebenchandrepeatuntilthedesiredamountofcoffeehasbeenground.

Somethingstorememberwhenusingthecoffeegrinder;
• Thesmallertheparticlesizethelongeritwilltaketogrind.
• Whenusingthefinersettingsthecoffeemaybecomestuck,werecommendtappingonthelidofthebeanhoppertodislodgeanyclumpsofcoffeeblockingtheflow.
• Afterlongperiodsofusingthefinersettingswerecommendremovingtheupperburrandsweepingawayanyresidualcoffeetoavoidclogging.SeetheCareandCleaningsectiononpage7formoredetails.
Tips1.Selectthecorrectgrindforthebrewing
methodyouareusing.25grindsettingsareavailabletoensureprecisionadjustment.Setting1producesthefinestgrind,12to16aremediumgrindsappropriateforespressocoffeemakers,and25isthecoarsestgrindyoucanachieve.Experimentwiththegrindsettingstoachievetheidealbrewthatbestsuitsyourtastes.
2.Fordripfiltercoffeemachines,agoodstartingpointistouse8grams(1scoop)ofcoffeeforevery4cupsofbrewwaterasmeasuredwiththecarafe.Finergrindsusuallyrequirelesscoffee,butusingtoofineagrindwillresultinabrewthatisbitterinflavour.
3.Forthosethatpreferweakercoffee,continuetousetherecommendedamountofgroundcoffeeandthendilutetheresultingbrewwithfreshhotwater.Doingthiswillmaximiseflavourandminimisebitterness.
4.Coffeethatisgroundtoofineforaparticularbrewingprocesswillresultinover-extractionandthecoffeewilltastebitter.Ontheotherhand,coffeethatistoocoarseforaparticularbrewingmethodwillresultinunder-extractionandthecoffeewillbethinandpoorinflavour.
5.Oncecoffeeisgrounditquicklylosesitsflavourandaroma.Forthebestresultswerecommendyougrindbeansimmediatelypriortobrewing.
6.Buyfreshwholecoffeebeansweekly.
7.Toretainfreshness,storewholecoffeebeansinanairtightcontainerinacool,dark,dryplace.Itisnotrecommendedthatyoustorebeansinthegrinder’sbeanhopperforaprolongedperiod.
8.Toensurethebestresultsfromthecoffeegrindercleanthebeanhopperandconicalburrsregularly.Oursuggestionisevery3weeks.

Cleaning the burrsIfthecoffeegrinderisusedfrequently(everyday),theburrsneedtobecleanedeverythreeweekstoensurebestperformanceofthecoffeegrinder.Regularcleaninghelpstheburrsachieveconsistentgrindingresults,whichisespeciallyimportantwhengrindingcoffeeforespresso.
NOTE:ALWAYSemptyallthecoffeebeansbeforeremovingthebeanhopper.
Thiscanbedonebysimplyturningthegrinderupsidedownandemptyingthebeansintoacontainer
1.Ensurethecoffeegrinderisswitchedoffandunpluggedfromthepoweroutlet.
2.Toremovethebeanhopperwithtopburrandcollarfromthegrinderbase,turnthecollaranti-clockwiseuntilitstops. Seefigure7.
3.Pressandholddownthe‘UNLOCK’buttonattherearofthegrinderbaseandcontinuetoturnthecollaranti-clockwiseuntilthenotchonthecollarisalignedwiththearrowontherearofthegrinder. Seefigure8.

4.Liftandremovebeanhopperandcollarfrombase.Thenpullthebeanhopperawayfromthecollartodetachthetwopiecesandcleanusingtheburr-cleaningbrush.
5.Cleanthebottomburrusingtheburr-cleaningbrush,seefigure9.
NOTE:Anyloosebeanssittingonthebottomburrcanberemovedbyeitherturningthegrinderbaseupsidedownandlettingthemfallintoabinoralternativelyuseavacuumtoremoveanybeans.
