Geospatial Portal

The proliferation of standards-compliant spatial data services has made multitudes of data readily available for millions of users. How do you unify the dissemination of your own data, and simultaneously provide a way to connect that data with spatial services of other providers? The Geospatial Portal is a ready-to-run, browser-based solution for finding, viewing, and querying geospatial data and web services in a single, intuitive map view. It is installed and configured on a web application server, enabling multiple users to access the site.

New Features for 2014

Analytics – Deliver analysis-ready data to a world of experts

Powerful discovery of ERDAS APOLLO vector and business data In conjunction with ERDAS APOLLO, Geospatial Portal has been extended to support new vector and business data workflows. This includes search and browse, zoom to extent, view vector data and metadata, and download of true vector and business data source files.

Customize your own solutions with an extensive SDK Create your own customized portal workflows and experience using the extensive APIs, documentation and examples in the Geospatial Portal SDK. The SDK does not require a separate license and can be used in conjunction with all Geospatial Server products that include Geospatial Portal as the client application, including GeoMedia WebMap and ERDAS APOLLO. The SDK is free to all Geospatial Portal software maintenance customers. To download or use online, support credentials (username and password) are required.

View your data (and the world) in 3D The world is not flat, neither is your data. To better visualize your data in a real-world context and see it from a new perspective, Geospatial Portal provides a modern 3D view based on myVR technology. The globe supports a base map and displays numerous data sources in 3D, including ERDAS APOLLO, GeoMedia WebMap, and Geospatial SDI data sources.

Update existing queries without the need to republish Few things are more frustrating than publishing a complex WFS or WMPS query and then finding out that the parameters have changed. Now the Geospatial Portal keeps the definition of each query, allowing you to modify them later. All updates are instantaneously updated in the map and/or in the data window.

Usability – Easily deliver professionally-finished products and a high-quality interactive experience tailored to

your company’s – and your customer’s – needs

More options for printing The new printing service offers additional templates for both portrait and landscape printouts. New text fields allow users to change the title and other textual fields on the printout. The effective printout area, determined by the scale and paper size settings, displays on the map and can be easily relocated.

Enhanced interface New user experience enhancements including new skins, more icons and a smoother zoom. Three new skins are supported, including one new color schema based on light blue colors, and two others following the Windows 8 flat design available in light and dark grey.
