FRENCH I MID-TERM REVIEW
NCVPS Fall 2013
Agenda
Review of important concepts Units 1-5 Common Errors
Tu vs. Vous
Remember the TONE when you are writing conversations.
If this is a person whose first name you use, use TU (familiar TONE).
If this is a person whose name has a title, use VOUS (formal TONE).
Do not mix tones with the same person in the same conversation.
Les Jours et La Date
Be sure to give the date as we have learned.
Be sure to know that the days and months are not capitalized in French.
Be sure to know the seasons. Remember that to make things plural in
French we have to make the noun and all adjectives (articles & adjectives) plural as well. This is called “agreement”.
J’aime….
Be sure you can ask and answer what others like to do and tell what you like to do.
Use J’aime to say what “I like” to do Use Tu aimes to ask or say what YOU like
to do.
Le temps
Be sure you can use Il fait….to talk about the weather.
Remember “il pleut” and “il neige” do not use “il fait” in front of them to talk about the weather.

You may not use a translator on your mid-term exam.
It is considered cheating and will result in a zero.
I have caught several of you trying to use a translator at some point during the semester.
You may not use your notes, or textbook. You may not use Google. The only item you may have open in
Blackboard is your exam. You may not work with a friend, or get help
from anyone on your test.
