ACCESS FOR ALLFerneham Hall offers a warm welcome to all its patrons. There is easy wheelchair access to all ground floor areas and to the flat surface of the auditorium. Large groups are welcome and special provision is made for carers. Please advise the Box Office of full details of the size and types of wheelchair at the time of booking so that suitable provision can be made in advance to avoid disruption to other patrons.

Our auditorium features an infra-red amplification system. Special receivers are available from the Box Office at the start of the event. We supply either headset or necklace receivers depending on whether you already have hearing aids. A £5.00 returnable cash deposit will be payable when collecting a receiver.

A traditional 'T' loop system is available in the Box Office and the Octagon.

Ferneham Hall has disabled toilet facilities in the foyer and disabled parking can be found in car parks adjacent to the building and in Osborn Road Multi-Storey Car Park.

Large format versions of this brochure are available from the Box Office. For more information see our Access For All leaflet on www.fernehamhall.co.uk.

SAFEGUARDINGFerneham Hall takes the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults very seriously and is guided by Fareham Borough Council's Safeguarding Policy and guidance to ensure that all of our visitors receive the best possible experience when visiting Ferneham Hall.

As part of our commitment to safeguarding, please be aware that children and young people (under the age of 16 years old) are not permitted to attend public events at Ferneham Hall, as a ‘lone’ member of the audience, without a responsible adult (someone aged 18 years and over) or parent who is attending with them.

The only exception includes SNAP events for young people between 11 and 16 years old, where activities are co-ordinated by Fareham Borough Council and supported with appropriately checked staff and volunteers, who are on hand to supervise.

Please be aware that in circumstances where Ferneham Hall is hired for an event which may involve children and young people; whether as guests or as performers, responsibility lies with the Hirer and their respective safeguarding arrangements. For this reason, parents need to ensure that they are comfortable with measures the Hirer has put in place for the event. Evidence of these arrangements will also be required from the Hirer at the time of booking the venue.

On behalf of all the staff at Ferneham Hall a warm welcome to your Spring & Summer 2014 What's On guide. Despite the relentless months of wet weather we are all looking forward to a fine season of quality entertainment.

Professional touring Shows coming to Ferneham Hall this Spring/Summer include: The Drifters, back by popular demand, Rob Kingsley as Elvis, Let’s Hang On on a national tour performing the sounds of Frankie Valli, and the very popular Bohemians and their tribute to Freddie Mercury and Queen. Following the continued popularity of the country’s Psychics we welcome back Colin Fry in July followed by Derek Acorah in September. For those looking for a taste of Vegas & Swing then The Rat Pack is one show not to be missed. I am also pleased to announce following the record breaking success of our professional Family Christmas Pantomime last year from Jordan Productions we are already on sale with their production of Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs.

We continue to host large scale quality productions by our talented local societies including: South Pacific performed by South Downe Musical Society in April, who return with Avenue Q in July, Anything Goes by Stage One in May, episodes from Fawlty Towers by Fareham Musical Society in June and Sound of Music in September with STP performing Phantom of the Opera in August.

If you have not seen a production by them before then please do so this year and if you are as impressed as I am with the quality of their productions they are always looking for budding actors and actresses to join their societies.

In the meantime even if you have not booked your seats to see a show you are always welcome to join us indoors in our Bar & Cafe for a lunchtime drink or outside on our popular Octagon patio overlooking the Ferneham Gardens. Those of you with mobile internet access don’t forget to take advantage of our free WiFi hot spot (Please ask at the Box Office or Bar for the password). To keep up to date with all the latest shows for this year and into 2015 visit fernehamhall.co.uk, Twitter and Facebook.

THE DAY THE MUSIC DIED THE BUDDY HOLLY 55TH ANNIVERSARY TOUR

In January 1959 Buddy Holly began a tour of America’s mid-west but due to an untimely airplane accident on the 3rd February, Buddy was lost to us forever.

That day would eventually become known as The Day The Music Died.

55 years on, we present a celebration of Buddy’s music. From the early songs such as Blue Days, Black Nights and Rock Around With Ollie Vee to True Love Ways, and It Doesn’t Matter Anymore.

This show proves that the music did not indeed die but lives on and is as vibrant and relevant as ever.

AS IT BEGAN - THE BOHEMIANS

A Concert Celebrating Queen’s Finest Live Performances, from 1974 to Magic ‘86Internationally renowned Queen Tribute band The Bohemians take you back to the early 1970’s... Remember when Bohemian Rhapsody was number one in the charts, (the first time round) and Queen played the Legendary Hammersmith Odeon show as shown on the BBC Whistle Test program? Remember the long hair, the big winged shirts, even the harlequin leotards of ’77?! Yes? The Bohemians take you back to the decade that taste forgot.

Move on to 1979, ‘The Crazy Tour’, deemed to be one of Queen’s most exhilarating performances within the Queen fraternity, Queen certainly hit the peek of their live performances on this highly regarded tour. The red, skin tight, PVC trousers, Fat Bottom Girls, Don’t Stop Me Now, ‘The Pizza Oven’ lighting Rig and a crazy live performance to take you to the end of an exhilarating first half of the show.

The second half celebrates Queen’s most successful and famous tour - ‘The Magic Tour’. How can anyone forget the classic yellow jacket and the massive hits such as A Kind of Magic, I Want to Break Free and One Vision. The Bohemians then celebrate Queen’s triumphant ‘Live Aid’ performance in 1985, universally regarded as one of Queen’s finest hour (well 20 minutes...).

THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA STP MUSICALS PRESENT AN AMATEUR YOUTH GROUP PRODUCTION BY ARRANGEMENT WITH THE REALLY USEFUL GROUP LTD

STP Musicals return to Ferneham Hall with their third in an Andrew Lloyd Webber trilogy of musical theatre hits: The Phantom of the Opera. Last year they brought us Cats and Starlight Express, and this talented and ambitious group enjoy the challenges of producing such epic and iconic musicals.

Far beneath the majesty and splendour of the Paris Opera House, hides the mysterious Phantom. Shamed by his physical appearance and feared by all, the love he holds for his beautiful protégée Christine Daaé is so strong even she cannot resist.

Enjoy the mesmerising score and striking costumes... but watch out for falling chandeliers!

THE WORLDS WORST SERIAL KILLERS

A two-hour audiovisual show presented by retired murder squad detective Trevor Marriott, who in addition to concluding a long and protracted cold case investigation into the serial killer Jack the Ripper, has made an extensive study into other serial killers from around the world? He is the author of the highly acclaimed best-selling book titled "The Evil Within -The World’s Worst Serial Killers"

The show highlights the murders committed by 20 of the world’s worst serial killers, many of which may not be so familiar to the many people that take a great interest in the crime of serial killers. The show features over 200 photographs of not only the victims and their killers, but photographs from the original crime scenes, many of which will never have been seen before.

Trevor Marriott not only portrays the killers as the monsters whom they are, but goes to great lengths to show the errors and bad decisions made by law enforcement officers in allowing some of these killers to roam free to kill again before finally being captured, as well as showing the pain and suffering the victims endured before succumbing to death, and the anguish suffered by the relatives of the victims when publicly confronting some of the killers.

NB Many of the photographs are of a graphic nature, which some people may find disturbing. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
