SHIN PARWANA SATURDAY 18 FEBRUARY, 1PM

Shin Parwana, the renowned frontman of bhangra band DCS, performs a popular mix of Bollywood classics and Punjabi Ghazals. Interested in music from a young age, he learnt to play the harmonium at the age of 12. Shin’s signature style has an infl uence of the greats; Mohammed Rafi , Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar and composer SD Burman.

ARUN GHOSH SATURDAY 10 MARCH, 1PM

Indo-Jazz clarinet maestro Arun Ghosh performs in a traditional Indian musical setting. Arun will be joined by tabla accompaniment, and will be performing material from his acclaimed albums Northern Namaste and Primal Odyssey, as well as giving a premiere of a new piece specially composed for the occasion.

Concerts2Kerbstones is an ongoing creative programme for children and families within the community of Ladywood.

THSH has recently worked with Birmingham based Friction Arts on a project at St. Thomas’s Children’s Centre. Exploring the ideas in the well-known children’s book Room on the Broom, families took part in creative activities before coming along to a performance at Town Hall.

Concerts2Kerbstones has also made it possible to offer every child in their fi rst year at a Ladywood primary school the chance to see Room on the Broom for free.
