TRADITIONAL “MAY CROWNING” OF OUR LADY We will celebrate the “May Crowning” on Sunday, May 19th at the 9 a.m. Mass at Holy Angels’ and the 11 a.m. Mass at St. Anne’s. We invite all parishioners to bring flowers to ALL MASSES that weekend. We will have the children carry them in procession at our Sunday morning Masses and place them around the statue of our Lady.

Crowning of Mary Prayer

Bring flow'rs of the fairest, Bring flow'rs of the rarest, From garden and woodland and hillside and vale; Our full hearts are swelling, Our Glad voices telling The praise of the loveliest Rose of the vale. O Mary! we crown thee with blossoms today, Queen of the Angels, Queen of the May, O Mary! we crown thee with blossoms today, Queen of the Angels, Queen of the May.

Our voices ascending, In harmony blending, Oh! Thus may our hearts turn Dear Mother, to thee; Oh! Thus shall we prove thee how truly we love thee, How dark without Mary life's journey would be. O Mary! we crown thee with blossoms today, Queen of the Angels, Queen of the May, O Mary! we crown thee with blossoms today, Queen of the Angels, Queen of the May.

Tickets are available at the Church Office or at the Columbus Club, 265 Wellington Street (226-927-0375). Watch the trailer at www.fatalflawsfilm.com.

ONE MILLION HAIL MARYS

A few final prayers came in after the deadline. Our final count stands at

1,646,850 Hail Marys

Thank you again for your help in this wonderful endeavour. Enjoy this day the Lord has made!

Prayers for Palliative Care On behalf of our CWL Members, we thank all parishioners and friends who were able to set aside special reflective prayer time by joining us in our 12 Hours of Prayer for Palliative Care this past Friday. Pope Francis reminds us, "Let us not underestimate the power of so many voices united in prayer." Your quiet voices are important and appreciated.

ST. PETER’S SEMINARY This Sunday is World Day of Prayer for Vocations and St. Peter’s Seminary is asking for your support in their annual Appeal. Your financial gifts and prayers will help ensure the future of St. Peter’s Seminary and the Church that she serves. Whether or not you can give financially, please join us in praying for vocations and especially for our priests and deacons. A brochure and donation envelope is included in your bulletin. Please return your donation to the Church Office or drop it into the collection basket. Cheques can be made payable to your Parish and we will forward all donations received to St. Peter’ Seminary.

Prayer for Vocations Heavenly Father, bless your Church With an abundance of holy and zealous Priests, deacons, brothers and sisters.

Give those you have called to the married state And those you have chosen to live as single persons in the world, the special graces that their lives require.

Form us all in the likeness of your Son So that in Him, with Him and through Him We may love you more deeply and Serve you more faithfully, always and everywhere. With Mary, we ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

CWL DIOCESAN CONVENTION 11 Holy Angels CWL members had the privilege of attending the Diocesan CWL Convention in Windsor. The convention focused on the Laudato Si, and the Caring for our Common Home with a focus on the environment. Two resolutions were also presented and passed. One dealt with Abortion and the effects on the mental health of the mother. The second resolution, requiring Equal Access to Permanent Resident Status, an amendment to the Express Entry System under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act as it relates to Religious workers. This one is of particular interest to our diocese as we struggle to get enough priests and religious to fill our needs. These resolutions will now go to the provincial level and national. If passed, national will then lobby the federal government to make them law.

Report on Queen of Peace Cemetery

Anyone visiting the Queen of Peace Cemetery in the last few years may have noticed some changes. About nine trees on the south east side have been cut down and replaced by new sugar maple trees (most of the costs donated by the Knights of Columbus). Also some of the nearly dead trees on the west side were cut down. You may have noticed as well that two benches have been placed near the cross, the cost of which also donated by the Knights. The most western area behind the shed and the trees was worked up and newly seeded this past fall. The board is anticipating the development of this part of the cemetery in the next 10 years or so, whenever funds are available. We are blessed to have an active cemetery board and volunteers that take care of our cemetery and our departed parishioners.

OLOS KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS, COUNCIL 4189 Happy Mother’s Day: To all mothers in our parish and our family of parishes from the Brother Knights of OLOS Council 4189. Family of Parishes Family Picnic - OLOS Council 4189, together with our brother Knights in Council 1467 invite all parishioners and their families to an appreciation picnic at the John Paul II Cultural Centre, 6679 Woodward Rd. Pt. Burwell on Sunday June 9 at 2:30 pm. The Knights will provide barbecued burgers and hot diggety dogs, condiments and buns. The rest is pot luck. You bring your drinks, alcohol is fine but no glass containers. There will be children's events, a pool, weather permitting, volleyball and walking trails. Time for prayer and sacred music. We will have signup sheets at the back of each church to help us prepare. Electronics Recycling Results: Council wishes to thank all who supported our electronics recycling event. Together we diverted 5.15 tonnes of trash from the dump and raised over $970 for local charity. We plan to hold it again in October, so keep that in mind.
