of the holy Rosary.

Page 2: Peter’s Way Tours

Dear friends, the Holy rosary is a special gift to the church in helping us to recall significant moments in the life of Jesus christ, significant milestones in salvation history. these powerful moments, these mysteries, we share in prayer with his Blessed mother and ours. i invite you to join us on pilgrimage as we explore the life of Jesus christ through the mysteries of the holy rosary. Let us go to the land where Jesus walked, to the Holy Land, and spend ten days walking in his footsteps, recalling in vivid detail the joyful, luminous, sorrowful, and glorious moments in his life, in god’s plan to redeem us through his only begotten Son. this unique experience will be infused with Sacred Scripture, daily sacrifice of the Holy mass, praying the holy rosary, Eucharistic adoration, and visits to some of the holiest sites on earth – where god chose to dwell among us. our pilgrimage culminates on the Solemnity of the immaculate conception. What better way to honor the mother of our Lord on this beautiful marian feast day! Won’t you join us as we enter the Paschal mystery through the prayers and places of the holy rosary? you are sure to encounter our Lord and his Blessed mother in new and precious ways – and you will never read the Bible or pray the rosary the same again. in christ and our Lady, Franciscan University Leadership Team

(B,D) Day 5 December 4, Sunday: Mount Tabor | Jordan Valley | Jerusalem Breakfast at the religious guesthouse. following breakfast, we will check-out, board the bus, and begin our journey “up to Jerusalem”! We will pass through nain, site of one of three of Jesus’ raising from dead miracles. at this holy place, our Blessed Lord accomplished one of three recorded miracles of raising someone from the dead, which manifests his divine Sonship and prefigures his own glorious resurrection of the 1st Glorious Mystery and the hope that is ours who are baptized into his death. continue to the summit of mount tabor. at this place, our Blessed Lord’s transfiguration prepared his apostles for what they were about to witness—the scandal of the cross—reminding them, and us, that if we share in his cross, we will share in his glory, which we commemorate in the 4th Luminous Mystery. on our journey to Jerusalem, continue to the Samaritan town of Sychar to visit Jacob’s Well

Celebrate Mass in Shepherds’ Field. group stop for lunch (cost not included). after lunch, we’ll depart Bethlehem for Ein Karem, the holy place commemorated in the 2nd Joyful Mystery, when the Blessed mother and her cousin Elizabeth greet each other in overwhelming joy as they become more aware of god’s plan of salvation to be accomplished through their “yes.” our afternoon ends with a visit to the temple mount (Western Wall), where we’ll recall the Holy family’s many trips to the temple, beginning with Jesus’ Presentation (4th Joyful Mystery), including the time when his worried parents found him there among the rabbis (5th Joyful Mystery). We know that we cannot stand around looking into the sky, but must busy ourselves with living and proclaiming the good news. continue along the Hosanna road to the chapel of Dominus flevit (the Lord Wept). as Jesus prepared to enter into his Passion (Sorrowful Mysteries), He paused before his triumphal entry into Jerusalem to weep over what would become of the temple and the holy city. group stop for lunch (cost not included). this afternoon, we will make our way to mount Zion and the upper room, where we recall that it was here that Jesus instituted the holy priesthood and the first catholic mass. in this holy place we commemorate the 5th Luminous Mystery and also the 3rd Glorious Mystery, when the Holy Spirit, whom He promised, came to descend upon the apostles. continue to Dormition abbey, where we commemorate the assumption of the Blessed virgin mary (4th Glorious Mystery), for she who was preserved free of original sin at the moment of her conception would be taken into heaven body and soul upon her last breath on earth. End our day with a return to the church of all nations, where the Passion of our Blessed Lord begins to join other pilgrims in Jerusalem to “stay awake” and keep watch with Him, which we commemorate in the 1st Sorrowful Mystery. Dinner and overnight at our hotel in Jerusalem. (B,D) Day 8 December 7, Wednesday: Bethany | Wilderness of Judea | Dead Sea Breakfast at our hotel.
