Into the quietness of the night comes the grumbling of thunder. Another storm is quickly approaching. Suddenly lightning flashes; hailstones begin to crash against the windows! The fury of the wind is flinging itself headlong into anything in its way, and the tempest rages on! Reading God’s Word in the thunderstorm calms one’s fear. The supremacy of Psalm 18 (NIV) transcends

the unknown in the darkness - for God, our Creator, is eternally in control – everywhere.

The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge...the earth trembled and quaked...He parted the heavens and came down; dark clouds were under his feet. He mounted the cherubim and flew; he soared on the wings of the wind...out of the brightness of his presence clouds advanced with hailstones and bolts of lightning. ...You, O Lord, keep my lamp burning; my God turns my darkness into light...He is a shield for all who take refuge in him. ...Therefore, I will praise You among the nations, O Lord; I will sing praises to your name.

...I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears...taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the [one] who takes refuge in him. Psa.34 Editor

Christian Triumph thanks each

of you for your kindness to this Gospel literature ministry. We are grateful for your prayers and appreciate all those who read the Faith Messenger and El Mensajero, the English and Spanish tracts, Bible lessons, books, and other materials which go forth bringing the good news.

THE GOOD NEWS

Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates

into the City...I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this testimony for the

churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the bright Morning Star.

Rev. 22:14-16

In Isaiah 61, God offers to array

each individual who reaches out to Him (for spiritual cleansing) -in a robe of righteousness. A quote from the book, Jesus Calling, by Sarah Young portrays His forgiveness and love in this way: I custom-made it [a robe] for you, to cover you from head to toe. (Page 232)

At times, we may remember our regretful choices which leave us feeling unworthy, and, in truth, all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God – notice, however, this same

verse in Romans 3:23 ends with a promise... [we] are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

The blood of Jesus washes us clean so that the beautiful robe of God’s holiness fits us perfectly. Does God’s forgiveness and mercy end there? Read the Lord’s prayer in Matthew 6.

As portrayed in Sarah Young’s book, Jesus Calling, we read this assurance and advice: When your behavior is unfitting for one in My kingdom, do not try to throw off your royal robe. Instead, throw off the unrighteous behavior. Then you will be able to feel at ease in this glorious garment... Page 232

R E S T O R A T I O N R E S T O R A T I O N R E S T O R A T I O N R E S T O R A T I O N By Anita

Our old swing set has begun to

fade and show signs of wear. Why would anyone keep it in the yard except that it does offer a place to rest and swing a bit? It has been a place to read the mail or just enjoy the fresh air while watching the beautiful clouds in the sky. Even if it isn’t appealing, it does still have some value…maybe an effort to restore it is workable: new paint and a new awning to shield from the sun.

- - - and now that the renovation is finished, the old swing set remains on the patio, a pleasant place to relax and enjoy God’s beautiful world.

Just like that old swing, most of us have times that we also need to be restored because of hard work, keeping up with life, and caring for others. Truthfully, there is every good reason to find the time to slow down and to achieve a sense of well-being and renewal.

By God’s grace, we can faithfully depend upon His help: He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake. Psa. 23:3

Jesus said in Matthew 11:28: Come to Me all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

One of the old, faithful songs so clearly reminds us:

What a Friend we have in Jesus, All our sins and grief to bear!

What a privilege to carry, Everything to God in prayer!

Oh, what peace we often forfeit, Oh, what needless pain we bear,

All because we do not carry Everything to God in prayer!

Joseph M. Scriven Charles C. Converse

Truly, God is our Great Restorer: My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest. Exodus 33:14 NIV

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.

-- Jesus, as found in The Beatitudes

I AM THIRSTY

I am thirsty, Lord, I’m thirsty, For the water of life that’s free.

This I plead in all humility, Make me daily, more like Thee.

This I ask, Lord, for Thy glory,

As I come to you sincerely; I beg you now on bended knee,

From all sin keep me free.

More like Thee, Lord, help me be. Transform my weak humanity. May my life improve in quality, Until Thy face in heaven I see.

I am thirsty, for more of Thee. May my friends see you in me.

I desire a life of purity; More like Thee I want to be.

Volume II)

THE VICTOR

The victor is not always he Who runs with fastest pace. Or he who is most skillful Who enters in the race. Sometimes the weakest instrument Is chosen to perform, To run where God has called him, Sometimes in bleakest storm. For God sees not as man sees, He looks down deep inside, And sees some qualities of life That are gold and silver lined. His judgments are so different, And what looks good to us, May bear a lot of sham and dross That could never be a plus. And so when ’ere our name is called On Judgment’s special day, We may be very much surprised To hear the Master say, That when we fed the poor and maimed, And helped the one who is down, We really did it unto Him And He’ll give the victor’s crown.

Best Value for Your Missions Dollar By Donna Lee Schillinger- Missions Coordinator

for Christian Triumph

Donna with one of the missionary families which Mount Olive funds right now.

What if You Could Bring the Church to an Unreached Village for $50 a Month? Would you do it? Amazingly, you can.

Our ministry partner in India, David Jerald of the Mount Olive Foundation, was stateside this past September and October (2014) in his first effort to raise international support for church planting and evangelism in India. (His wife did not come. She is caring for their two children as well as overseeing the ministry in India.)

His two-month itinerary included Canada, California and Florida, where he renewed contacts from his years in seminary, and Texas and Arkansas, where he was hosted by Christian Triumph workers William Anderson (in Houston) and Donna Schillinger (in Arkansas).

We praise God for a successful visit and for two of our supporting

churches that opened the door to David to hear how God is working in India—First Church of God in Port Arthur, Texas, and Courtyard Church in Skiatook, Okla. David made many other contacts as well, with individuals, churches, and ministries involved in work in India, all of which we pray will be seeds that some day yield a harvest of souls for the Kingdom.

When David arrived in the U.S., he left 10 prepared Indian nationals waiting for funding to be able to go to Unreached Indian villages to plant churches. Depending on the location that the missionary family is assigned, whether a small village or a larger town, their entire monthly support costs only $50 to $75 for a family of four or five.

I will admit this is hard for me, as an American, to wrap my mind around. How can a family of four live on $50 a month? Providentially, the state of Tamil Nadu provides food rations to its citizens, so one of the major expenses for the Indian family is subsidized by the government. Add a goat for milk and a small garden to the typical cement block house of two small rooms, which costs approximately $10 a month; subtract a car to care for, subtract insurance costs and subtract frequent trips to a mall, and amazingly, it is possible to live on $50 a month in India.

We praise God that monthly support for most of those waiting to go into the field has been pledged by

Page 6: Faith Messenger November 2014

people David met on this trip. The Mount Olive Foundation will provide up to two year’s worth of full support to these missionary families with the expectation that the newly planted church will be able to sustain the pastor and family after that. Under this model, the Mount Olive Foundation has planted more than 200 churches and currently supports 45 church plants.

More Indian national missionaries are being trained even now, so if anyone would like the soul satisfaction of being the full support of a church plant to an Unreached Indian village, please consider a monthly gift of $50 to $75 to the Mount Olive Foundation. Since this is an Indian organization, donations are not tax deductible. If you need the tax deduction, you can send your support to Christian Triumph Company, which will pass on 100 percent of the donation to the Mount Olive Foundation. To donate directly to the Mount Olive Foundation, please contact Donna Schillinger for more details. 479-774-5699, [email protected] or write Donna at PO Box 5187, Corpus Christi, Texas, 78465.

Email from George Bell: I want to thank you for the homecoming article [by email]. It never ceases to amaze me how God works to help one in time of need…I have been thinking about homecoming ever since…and composed a poem.

No matter what we do or say Things do not always go our way. Trials - they do always abound, Sometimes an answer is not found, But do not forget… We Are Not Home Yet! Everything seems to be at loss, Back and forth they are tossed. Everyday situations seem the same. Sometimes we try ourselves to change And that in itself is a sure bet – We Are Not At Home Yet! We read the word and pray In hope to make it through the day. The Lord does hear our cry And to our hearts, He will apply- In our spirits, this mind set: We Are Not At Home Yet! Then, suddenly, it is done! We behold the face of His SON, The singing and praise of the Heavenly Host And we see the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost, The Beauty of the Father’s Glory, The song of the Redemption Story. There are no words to explain The Immediate and Glorious Change! So before His mercy seat we bow

Shouting, Hallelujah! WE ARE HOME NOW!

PEACE

Peace is the divine gift of the ability to remain faithful, calm and patient in spite of the panic of unfulfilled dreams, unpleasant circumstances and unavoidable uncertainly. Charles Swindoll – The Living Insights Study Bible

Is the World Spinning out of Control?

As we examine the world’s insanity, we can’t help but feel a little desperate, or worse, we grow calloused. Of the two, I’d rather feel disturbed – it’s a natural human reaction and it’s productive. Our discomfort compels us to want to make the world a better place. Before mass media, a person’s glimpse of the world’s insanity was limited to craziness in close proximity. Now, however, there seems to be no end to the insanity… So what do we do with all that emotional disturbance? Well, we should turn it into positive action. If we don’t have some outlet in our life to effect positive societal or world change, we have no way to channel all those emotions out of our system. They will become toxic sludge inside us. We need to find a cause we can support and as we’re engaged in it, release (let go of) the emotions the world’s insanity has stirred in us… Psalms 104:5 says, [God] set the earth on its foundation; it can never be moved. And if you know the rest of the story, you know God has great plans for the earth – the physical

globe and everything on it is completely under God’s control, every waking and sleeping moment…. No wisdom, no insight, no plan can counter God… God already knows the resolution to all the world’s problems and all our individual problems. He is in control. In fact, some of the very things we may be fighting so hard to change could be an integral part of God’s plan. Excerpts from Book: ON MY OWN NOW by Donna Schillinger, Pages 264-267

P R O M I S E S There is no wisdom, no insight,

no plan that can succeed against the Lord. The horse is made ready for the day of battle but victory rests with the Lord. Proverbs 21: 30-31 NIV

Jesus: Peace I leave with you; my

peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14: 27 NIV

Many years ago, Brother and Sister Janes,

founders of Christian Triumph, trusted in God’s

promises. In beginning this literature ministry,

they believed the “calling” to share the Gospel

with foreign countries came from God. And since

1934, the Lord has worked His wonderful plan,

often replacing troubled times with His Peace,

while the Good News continues to go forth!
