The Brief
To create the perfect working environment to enhance staff welfare and use 100%
pollutant free fresh air ventilation. The system to have the lowest possible environmental
impact and incorporate the latest technologies in renewable and sustainable heating. The
system is to operate below 2020 carbon targets to exemplify the company’s
consideration for environmental issues and justify investment in green technologies.
Strict guidelines prohibited the use of fossil fuels.
How we did it
EuroFast floor heating integrated in the raised access floors combined with perimeter
heating and cooling, wall cooling and heat recovery ventilation. Heating and cooling
generated by 2No. Ochsner Airthermal heat pumps connecting with roof mounted
millennium split evaporators transferring energies at 400% efficiency. EuroSmart

heating controls using smart sensors to regulate comfort settings with self learning
capacity within each room simultaneously controlling heating and cooling.
The cooling pipe work is integrated within internal wall plaster invisibly transporting
excess heat back to the plant room from south facing rooms.
The Kingspan design team were keen to use insulation techniques to eliminate all cold
bridging presented by the intricate structural system while facilitating the integration of
the radiant heating and cooling system.
