A key priority for the college is to ensure that there are no achievement gaps between groups of students with respect to age, gender, ethnicity, disability and other protected characteristics. We are committed to promoting Equality, Diversity and Inclusion and narrowing any achievement gaps that may be identified.Over the next two years we aim to collect further data on sexual orientation, gender reassignment and religion or belief. Due to the small data sample for these categories, and the risk of identifying individuals, the information that will be published may be reduced. However, the information will help us to ensure that all our services meet the needs of our student population and promote an inclusive environment.

The following data is also available for our apprentices and can be requested by email at [email protected]

Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Engagement With Our Students

Grantham College is proud to be an organisation which values equality, diversity and inclusion whilst promoting Fundamental British Values of liberty, democracy, rule of law and mutual respect throughout our taught curriculum, student services and as part of our policy and procedure development.

In the 2015 Ofsted inspection, the College was praised for having a “good provision for a wide range of disadvantaged learners, whose needs are not catered for elsewhere.” As such, we are committed to ensuring that our staff and students feel safe and have adequate systems in place to immediately respond to incidences which contravene the organisation’s Equality & Diversity policies and procedures.

To help our College community to learn about faith and religions, disabilities, race, sexualities and gender equality we annually commit to a programme of events, training, activities and guest speakers throughout the academic year; all of which are well received and promote an inclusive environment and encourage our community to become active citizens of the UK.

Claire Temprell Assistant Principal HR & Student Services.
