LAST WEEK – May 11, 2018 – Youth Day with Doug Peterson: D6000 Youth Exchange Chair

Friday was a wonderful day at North Scott Rotary! Ninety attended with numerous students, parents, Rotarians and guests attending. The Scholarship winners, RYLA students and Interact students were all recognized. Their names and pictures are earlier in this newsletter.

Doug Peterson, D6000 Youth Exchange Chairman, showed a video of numerous exchange students singing the opening ceremonies at the 2010 International Conference in New Orleans, LA. He promoted the advantages of Youth Exchange and encouraged members to consider becoming involved again.

Many thanks to the scholarship committee for all the hours spent reading and scoring the many applications, chaired by Carolyn Scheibe. Also, thanks to Jan Touney for her continuous dedication to North Scott Junior Students Interact students, as she teaches them to serve others.

DUES INCREASE:

Due to rising costs for the operations of the North Scott Rotary Club, the board of directors has voted on a $5.00 per quarter, increase in dues, effective July 1, 2018. The basic dues for a 3 month period will then be $175 and the required giving to the Paul Harris Foundation will remain at $25. The new total per quarter will be $200.00. There has not been an increase in dues for 4 years. Thanks to everyone for understanding

The 4 Way Test

Of the things we THINK SAY or DO

1. Is it the TRUTH?

2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?

3. Will it build GOOD WILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS? 4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
