Mission Statement & Editorial Policy

“Ecru takes an unconventional approach to fashion, profiling the next generation of talent within the creative industry. Ecru reflects an un-bleached, raw viewpoint through it’s relationship with the industry and the reader. Aesthetics to tell their story is mirrored through the clean-cut feel to the publication.”

Ecru profiles up and coming talent within the fashion industry, ranging from designers to illustrators. Ecru’s hope is to showcase all aspects of fashion, from beginning to end, displaying process and narrative along the way. Therefore, focusing on the beauty of construction within garments, seen through illustrations, fabrics and craft. To get to the final product, Ecru delves in to fashion insiders philosophies to see their aesthetics, demonstrating the intimate

interaction which happens throughout the entire process. This is a new approach to fashion, reflected in Ecru’s title with it’s off-white theme. Garments are the main influence to Ecru, however the clothes are accompanied by models, photographers etc, therefore, we focus on the entire package of who’s next.We hope the dimension we are building in Ecru will bring our readers a fresh experience, inspiring them with a new way in consuming fashion.

As an intellectual fashion magazine, Ecru embraces minimal and clinical aesthetics. The large scale of white spaces resembles a gallery space. The content of Ecru speaks for itself, therefore needing no

exaggeration.

14th May 2012Ecru goes digital on Monday 14th May, 2012. The website entails the same aesthetics as the printed publication and will feature information on the

magazine as well as all features, including unseen footage.

Ecru digital will also highlight continuous updates throughout the year to accompany the yearly

printed publication.

ecruLaunch Party

11th May 2012Ecru is hosting a launch party on Friday 11th

May at the Vibe Bar, Brick Lane, London. Vibe Bar provides the quirky atmosphere which Ecru

are loking for within it’s launch. The square room with it’s mismatched furniature provides an urban

environment, reflecting the raw talent of the up and coming creatives seen in Ecru. The event celebrates

Ecru by showcasing the first issue designers, inviting industry professionals to see the next

generation. Workshops to be advertised for new talent post-launch.
