After her reading last December, Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy declaredthat she’d like to round off every year with a reading in Swansea. Herwish is our command, and she’ll be back at the close of the year.

There’s plenty to enjoy before that, not least an exciting Dylan ThomasFestival packed with great events, details of which will be released in aseparate brochure.

Gerry Murphy, following anunforgettable performance earlier this year, returns to celebrate his latest collection, My Flirtation withInternational Socialism.The reading will be preceded by In the Hands ofErato, Liz O’Donoghue’s film featuring Paddy Galvinand other Cork writers reading poems in the settingsthey describe, which she filmed in 1999 and 2000. 27 October – 19 JanuaryCORRIDOR GALLERY EXHIBITION:Lee Miller: Visiting PicassoAcclaimed photographer Lee Miller, and surrealist writer RolandPenrose, visited Picasso on many occasions, with Picassotravelling to their home in Sussex in 1950. Miller charted theirremarkable friendship from 1937 to Picasso’s death in 1973, and this exhibition – which includes images of other members of the internationalsurrealist circle – offers a unique and intimate portrait of life close to Picasso.
