Pianist Alex Raineri is a sought-afterrecitalist,concerto soloist and chamber musician. During his week-long residency at UWA he will mentor and perform alongside students, lead workshops and masterclasses and present a solo recital of Australian works, including a new work by UWA faculty member James Ledger.

Our alumni include the celebrated international artist Craig Ogden, whose albums have consistently reached number one in the BBC Classical charts.

Gala Concert Inthefinaleofthefestival,old friends from university Craig Ogden and Paul Tanner once again team up to perform as Ogden-Tanner – a guitar and percussion duo with a core repertoire of popular guitar duets, tangos, and new works, before Craig joins forces with the UWA Chamber Orchestra to perform the Australian premiere of Andy Scott’s Guitar Concerto.

He has been a member of the celebrated Australian Brandenburg Orchestra since 1995 and has been their principal cellist since 2002.

Kate Clark (Baroque flute) and Catherine Jones (Baroque cello)Kate studied at the University of Sydney and the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague. She has performed and recorded as a soloist and with chamber ensembles and orchestras throughout Europe. A leading specialist onRenaissanceflute,shehas been invited all over Europe and beyond to give lectures and courses on this instrument.

UWA graduate and Baroque cellist Catherine Jones enjoys an international and varied career, performing and recording both as a soloist and with ensembles. Catherine is professor of Baroque cello attheFeliceDall’AbacoConservatorium of Verona and the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatorium (Milan).
