Sunday Adult Bible Classes Bethel offers two Adult Bible Classes on Sundays starting at 10:00AM.

The Book of Acts is being studied in the Parish Hall, led by Pastor Randy Bard. This is the same study on Saturday evenings at 5:00 PM in the Sanctuary. The Book of Exodus is being studied in room 232, led by Pastor Eden.

We hope you will join either one of these classes.

We are delighted you are with us. We hope you will fill out the connection card on the back of this bulletin. If you are a first time guest, we have a mug for you with some Bethel information in them. Please check at the Welcome Center in the narthex.

Children’s Activity Books are available in the narthex beside the Elders Credenza. NURSERY AVAILABLE—Nursery Care is available in Rm. 152 for ages 4 and under. If your little one becomes restless, feel free to use the Nursery. The ushers will be glad to be of assistance. Please know though, that your children and babies are always welcome as we worship.

A Warm Bethel Welcome to Our Guests! If you wish to participate in the Lord’s Supper, please read the statement concerning the Supper on your attendance card. If you are in agreement with us, then please sign the card and place it in the offering plate. We offer gluten-free wafers at Communion. If your diet/health requires that you do not eat gluten, please ask for one from the elder serving the bread at the time you commune. If you are medically or emotionally unable to drink the offered wine, then grape-juice with a single drop of wine is offered in the center of each tray.

Bethel Lutheran Preschool offers classes for ages 2-4 with extended care available. For more information, contact Carolyn Janac at [email protected] or 485-9835.

LWML Mites in Action—Mites

will be collected on LWML Weekend Sat-urday, October 2nd and Sunday, October 3rd. CHECK IT OUT online at http://www.lwml.org/mission-grants to see

these mission $$ at work.

One of their Mission Grants is— Healing the Invisible Wounds of War through Horses Spirit Warrior, Central Maine — $95,000 Many veterans and service members want to connect with God. Theological discus-sions, as well as hearing of the love of Christ, take place while caring for the

horses. For information on the Spirit Warrior min-istry, go to: www.lwml.org/2021-2023-mission-grant-2.

LWML Celebration Sunday! - Lutheran Women in Mission praise the Lord for opportunities to share His message and love with people in all walks of life throughout our commu-nity and the world. Today the LWML invites you to join us in celebrating the joy of serving the Lord with gladness in this congregation. Togeth-er, we will offer our praise using the theme, “Our Hearts in HIS Hand,” based on 1 Peter 4:8. We invite you to learn more about the mission and ministry of the LWML by asking an LWML member or going to the LWML website, www.lwm.org. Thank you for supporting the LWML through your mites and prayers.

Stewardship Encouragement—Mark 10:6 – “But from the beginning of creation …” In recent years, our country – along with most all the (formerly) Christian nations of Europe – has lost its way when it comes to marriage. We have ignored the fact that it is God who created us. We always go off the tracks when we forget that He made us and that everything good in this world comes from His hand. In big things and in small things, in the life of a nation or the life of an individual, things go dreadfully wrong when we ignore the Creator’s instructions for life.

“Life ministry is about walking together, bearing one another’s burdens, and celebrating the lives God has given us. Life ministry is assisting the mother who is struggling in the pew with her ‘busy’

preschooler. Life ministry is encouraging the father whose unbelieving wife just left him. Life ministry is visiting the sick and elderly, preparing meals for the grieving, celebrating with the newlyweds.

Christ’s Church continues to bring the message of new life into each and every heart. And that is a beautiful thing!” Deaconess Rachel Geraci, former Mission and Ministry Director for Lutherans For

Life This Life Quote is from Lutherans For Life—www.lutheransforlife.org. Hurting from abortion? Word of Hope can help. www.word-of-hope.org; 888.217.8679.

ATTENTION!! The first Saturday worship service of every month is Bethel’s “mask required” service. These dates are: Oct. 2, Nov. 6, Dec. 4. All worshippers will be asked to maintain their masks throughout this once a month service. "The Board of Elders is continuing to monitor the presence of Covid in our community on a weekly basis. We ask that everyone respect the concerns of those who do wear a mask by maintaining an appropriate social distance unless they indicate otherwise. Because of the low attendance numbers at our Saturday evening service, it is easy for those attending to social distance if they feel the need to do so."
