Season’s Greetings! So far it has been an interesting year for the College Park Recreation Association. The Annual General Meeting saw a few people recommit their volunteer efforts, but there were a lot of new members who raised their hands to volunteer with the CPRA. For those who have graciously remained to serve the community, we thank you for your dedication and hard work. To all new members and families, we welcome all of you and look forward to working on building a strong and healthy neighborhood. Families have enjoyed another season of programs and activities that were planned and implemented by our coordinators, coaches and instructors. Thank you to all who participated! Volunteering within the community is a very rewarding experience. We are still in need of filling a few positions and an extra hand or two is always appreciated, especially when changing rink boards. Without volunteers all the programs and activities that our families enjoy so much would not be available. Please consider sharing a small amount of your time and taking an active role with the organization. Feel free to contact me if you have questions, concerns or suggestions. At this time, on behalf of the executive I would like to wish all of you a joyous holiday season and all the best in 2015.
Sincerely, Brent Wolfater

DS KORNER:
College Park Accessible Community Garden
Col lege Park Acc es sible Community Garden 2014
We had our fourth successful gardening season this year with 74 different garden plots including 11 raised garden boxes. Our gardeners consist of individuals, couples, families and one school classroom from Greystone
Heights School. Combined we had over 120 people gardening who enjoyed fresh vegetables that they grew from seed or plants. This year we were part of the City of Saskatoon’s Compost Green Bin program and found that the garden refuse was huge and that in 2015 we will be requesting a second bin
and continue to compost through this program. Sherbrooke Community Centre had a group of grade 6 students (iGen) who are on-site at their
facility and these students volunteered tomulch our pathways of our garden in September. They did a wonderful job and we will be looking forward to the
iGen classroom gardening with us in the Spring. At this time we have a waiting list of 7 people for garden plots for next year. If you live in the
College Park, East College Park or Greystone Heights area you qualify to apply for a garden plot for 2015 and can be added to our waiting list. Email
your interest and where you reside to [email protected]
