What would you do if a teenager came up to you and gave you a flower? Or a cupcake? Or gave your child a balloon? Well last Saturday at our 'Love Harpenden' event we found out! Almost entirely people were, as we'd hoped, momentarily speechless and joyfully blessed! It became apparent early on in the day that people are not ready to receive something for free, much less something as lovely as a flower or a cupcake. So as around 900 flowers, 600 balloons, 300 cupcakes, 30 hand massages, 75 free car washes, 100's of smoothies and ice creams and numerous bubbles and smiles were given away we got to witness the incredible and perpetuating power of the 'random act of kindness'! And if the way in which we brightened the day of a massive amount of people wasn't enough, I got to see our team of young leaders truly live out their calling as disciples of Jesus. Often without words and sometimes for only a matter of seconds, I witnessed them love people, strangers, in a way which I believe will have a profound effect for months to come. On Saturday we were the church, we were the body of Christ, we were light in dark places and we were bringing joy and love to people. What I witnessed was hope in the form of this current generation, hope that the church and faith in Jesus still has a real power in the world, if only, like happened last Saturday, we forget ourselves, leave our buildings, show love and simply be with people. The Rectory St Helens Wheathampstead High Street AL4 8AA There will be a cream tea and also entertainment for children, plus a chance to hear all that God has been doing this year within the ministry of the267project. Saturday 18th July 3pm-5pm ‘A new command I give you: love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.’ John 13: 34-35

  • Pray for the next term of Fuel and FUeL Team as we invite some new year 7+8's to be part of what is going on. Pray also for events we want to do similar to 'Love Harpenden' but in a different location and as part of a FUEL Team Roadtrip!

Pray for wisdom as we start to plan for this years Houseparty at New Year. Dates are 30th Dec - 2nd Jan, get it in your diary now

Pray for rest, relaxation and restoration for the whole team over the summer break

On Saturday 18th July we are having our 'end of Year Celebration' and a Garden Party. Pray that the weather is great and loads of people come and join us as we give thanks for another year of amazing 267 ministry

We're growing, we have plans to do some new things, and so we need further financial support. Pray for us as we seek new donors, apply for grants and make fundraising plans. If you are able to start giving to us or increase your current giving them please get in touch, thank you

Pray for Yener and Connie as they move on to new youth ministry posts. We shall miss them but thank God for the unique contribution that brought to Kingdom building in this area

Pray for our new X:site plans for St Albans next term. X:site has been a massive success in Harpenden and so we want to bring it to another group of churches. Pray for the new team and that loads of volunteers will choose to get involved

Pray for our final TTS of the term. The topic is 'preparing young people for Uni' which we believe to be a really key thing. Pray for rosie from Student Link and Fusion who is coming to encourage us

    Love Harpenden Joyousness!

Had some really encouraging times over the last month while visiting some of our supporting churches and being able to preach and share about 267. Thank you Markyate Baptist and St Luke's St Albans for your welcome and continued support

Fuel continues to be a great space and young people are responding and seeking more of Jesus in their lives. We thank God for such a supportive bunch of youthworkers and for some truly gifted young leaders

The City Golf Day that was organised for us raised over 7000!! We thank God so much for this much-needed financial support but also for all the amazing people who gave so much to organise, plan and deliver a superb day. Thank you particularly to Nigel and the UBS team and Richard and Porters Park Golf Club

Some of the trustees gathered together to complete a number of grant applications. It was a great time and 5 additional applications have been put in. Please pray that more than 1 of them are successful so that we can continue to grow this ministry

'More?' Cafe this term has been a real joy with the Live Music Night and our 'Interesting People' and 'Room 101' evening

Spent a morning with St Mary's Redbourn so do some training and encouragement. What a great team running a great ministry

LOVe HArPeNdeN was the highlight of the year so far. Superb team, amazing weather, great conversations and a clear witness of the love of God for people. Look out for the video of the day on Youtube soon

Mike has taken some time to continue writing his book and has found it an encouraging and inspiring time

    Invest in growth...

The aim of the2:67project is to encourage and equip youthwork by offering joint weekends away, leadership training, networking opportunities, resources and consultation in all aspects of youth and childrens work. Our goal is to enhance and inspire youth work provision through partnership with local churches in this area.
