Lenny BarshackDISC Board MemberI’m Lenny Barshack and I have been attend-ing the DISC since1982. The first year I raced I had been on skis a total of 4 days, so yes, any level skier is welcome. In 1995, after spending 15 years on Wall Street, I be-came an internet entrepreneur, co-founding a handful of startups. In 2007, I gave a new meaning to “I survived the Directors’ Cup.” I live in Sun Valley with my wife, Erin Smith.

Erin Smith I’ve had many special moments at the DISC over the last 20 years: my first ski race, getting engaged at the final night dinner in Sun Valley, and eloping at lunch in Aspen 15 years ago!

Kirsten Bartok Returning for her second year in the Direc-tors’ Cup, Kirsten is looking to at least know what she is getting into this time around! Af-ter growing up in Maine, Kirsten was lucky enough to attend university with Dan Bo-land, Tom Huang and Sang Lee. She cur-rently splits her time between San Francisco and New York City.

Day to day, Kirsten is a managing di-rector at AirFinance Capital, the leasing and investment firm that provides assed backed leases and loans to manufacturers and com-mercial operators of business jest globally. Prior to AirFinance, Kirsten was co-founder, board member and CFO of the business jet fleet operators XOJET before it was sold to TPG in 2007. Before XOJET Kirsten had spent the majority of her career in private equity, credit investing and finance at Alpine Investors, JP Morgan Partners, and Goldman Sachs & Co.

Heidi BlumI first skied in the DISC in 1987 in Sun Valley. After being absent for a long time I have been really happy to be able to join in the last few years. Owner and designer of heidiskis, we are making skis for all of you to fall in love again with the sport–come try them during the race! Born and raised in Marin County, California, I have lived in Montreux Switzerland for the last 20 years and have two great, fast skiing sons, ages 7 and 9.

Dan Boland DISC Board Member & 2009 Co-Chairman Ski racing career got off to a hobbled start when he didn’t learn how to ski until his teen years . . . and then only on the hills above the abandoned coal mines of western Penn-sylvania (have to watch out for those sink-holes). Eventually Dan turned to car racing to get the speed rush that his limited skiing ability could not provide. Dan enjoys long walks on the beach, sunsets, puppy dogs, and drinking out of a calf-hoof flask (espe-cially while enjoying a nice glass of Meursault in the other hand).

Emily CarrollArtist and loves to ski!

David Dusek Corporate Real Estate Professional. Physically challenged in drinking and table dancing. Still doubling down on Boland thru the gates.

Christine Dusek Corporate comms Guru and permanent sidelines sand bagger. Looking forward to ski-ing, shopping and spending David’s money.

Howard EckerDISC Board MemberI started attending the Moreault Cup 35 years ago. Over the years there have been many fond memories including watch-ing a race between David Stein and Ralph Wanger that lasted over 5 minutes. My re-cent skiing accomplishments include beating Johnny Woodcock, age approximately 11; unfortunately he was only skiing with one ski. Of course my crowning glory is my annual thrashing of the bobo!

Janet EckerI attended my first race - 33 years ago. . .ouch!! It was still known as the “Moreault Cup” and Howard was 6”2”, Mike Culver, Billy Shaw and Doug Woodcock (or as we affectionately called him “Timberdick”) were the “pros” and the Bobbo was still decked out in surfer regalia --boy did we have fun. The independent spirit award would have had to go to everybody. I’m a real estate broker in Chicago and still striving to be an acceptable skier. Love to golf and am so happy to be able to see how the race has changed. I was also on the only all women’s team ever, where we won every race -- what a satisfying win that was!! Thank god for the handicapping.

Joshua Harris Josh is an amateur skier who has previously raced in four other Directors’ Cups.

Ken HausmanDISC Board MemberI’ve been coming to the Directors’ Cup for 13 years and have been on the board for over half that time. The camaraderie, com-petition, and good times (all sometimes in extremes) are special. Lining up at the bar mid-afternoon to do tequila shots on the day of arrival is a long lost art.

David HelfandDISC Board MemberAs always, my primary reason for participat-ing in this event is the chance to see Jennifer Diehl!

Molly is a die-hard skier and golfer and is excited to be attending her 4th Directors’ Cup!

Christopher HojloBorn in Duxbury, Massachusetts, Chris spent his teen years skiing on the hills of New England. Today, he is better known as the wife of Julie and the father of Ted (19 months), resides in New York City, and heads out West for his skiing fix. He is an avid runner and triathlete, and a golf and racquet sports enthusiast. This year’s event marks Chris’s fifth Directors’ Invitational. Now also a snowboarder (to her husband’s chagrin), Julie’s day job is within the alternative investments business at Krusen Capital Management. Like Chris, Julie is an avid runner, former tri-athlete and rac-quets and golf enthusiast. She met Chris at Tuck for business school, but was able to gain acceptance to a superior college in heryouth, getting her BA at Yale.

Andrew Hromyk

Tom HuangDISC Board MemberThis Director enjoyed a brief stint as a pro-fessional bull rider and calf-roper. As you can see from the pictures, his trademark was grip-hand ambidexterity, a skill no other rider could match. Tragically, his once-promising career was cut short by an acute case of ro-deo clown phobia, forcing him to retireto the tranquility of Manhattan, which boasts the nation’s lowest concentration of rodeo clowns per capita. He spends as much of his free time as possible on the hills surrounding Red Tail Camp in Beaver Creek.

Hans Humes

Bob JaffeDISC Board Member; 2006 DISC ChairmanHappy board member and Pro Babe wran-gler. Film producer, former studio executive and aspiring ski bum who lives in NY with his wife, Leelee, and his daughter, Avery. Long overdue for a Directors’ Cup win!

Alex JeffersWith Macquarie Capital in New York City. Libra and first time at DISC.

Charlie JohnsonI am a southern Wisconsin Native, but have called Colorado home for 6 years. I grew up skiing in the West and moved here for that reason, among other less important things like school. I now live in Denver and I do not get to ski very much because my employers at RocHenge have me on a tight leash!

William Kunkler Third year DISC vet. Looking forward to checking out the competition at Vail this year. Home base is Chicago, but spend as much time as possible in Aspen. Still working as Exec VP of CC Industries - a private equity firm focused on basic manufacturing and real estate.

Tracy Kyne Despite skiing since I was 4 yrs old and be-ing a member of Bishops University Ski Team (long story) - I’ve never raced but always wanted to. With 17 years experience in the financial industry and three boys (all avid rac-ers) I’m finally ready to try racing.

Eberhard LangeHaving come to the US for boarding school in the northeast, I was briefly exposed to ski racing and hopefully learned a thing or two that I will be able to use at the Director’s Cup. I am looking forward to getting back into racing and having some fun out in Vail. I am currently working for Macquarie Capital in NYC and am mainly focused on principal transactions.

Eric PagelUnfortunately, I missed last year’s event in Jackson Hole. I will NEVER let that happen again! I’m psyched for Vail 2010!

Bill PapariellaMARQUISJET Event SponsorNetJets is a Berkshire Hathaway - Warren Buffett owned company. We are the larg-est global operator of aircraft in the world and the 2nd largest airline commercial or private.

Ken PicacheDISC Board MemberThe 40th anniversary will mark my 8th out of 9 years in attendance. While it’s an event that brings great friends together and even better tales of absurdity, each year, I dread the nightmares that follow in the days/weeks after seeing Dan Boland in a skin suit. Tequila is of course an incredible remedy, but unfortunately, Tom Huang’s original te-quila canteen has been unable to withstand the years of DISC’s abuse. I believe, how-ever, a suitable replacement has been found and look forward to many DISC years to come.
