A Message From Our Principal, Joseph Cocozello
It’s hard to believe but we are a little more than a month away from the
close of the 2018-2019 school year! First I’d like to congratulate our 2nd Graders who received their First Holy Communion. I am most grateful to Sr. Anne, Mrs. Reistad, and Mrs. Joerger for all their hard work in preparing our students for this great milestone in their young lives.
Academically, with state tests having been completed, we now embark on the final round of MAP testing. With that, grades 6-8 will be preparing for final exams. Please note that grades 3-8 will be taking the Archdiocesan Religion final exam. From an academic perspective, I am happy with the progress made this year but with that being said, my goal is always to strive for perfection so we will continue to review areas where we feel we can build upon.
While we still have a lot in front of us in regard to school work, there is also an abundance of trips, activities, and events yet to come for our students. It is an exciting time for all, but it is my hope that academics will continue to be the priority and I kindly ask that you please ensure that for your children.
I would like to extend a sincere Thank You to our Family Guild for their great efforts throughout the school year. It has been a pleasure working with you and seeing your sole intention being the joy of our children. With the Family Guild, I thank all of our parents who volunteered their time in a variety of ways all again for the benefit of the students. It is truly a blessing for me to be a part of such a wonderful and loving school community!
Lastly, it is with tremendous gratitude and sadness that I submit this newsletter piece for the last time with Monsignor Finn as our pastor. I cannot emphasize enough to you how fortunate we have been to have Monsignor Finn here for us. In this not-so-new age of regionalization, we have been truly blessed to have a pastor who absolutely loves the children and the school and is beyond proud of all we do, staff, parents, and students alike. To step into this role and have Monsignor Finn by my side for five years, I couldn’t have asked for anyone better. His knowledge and guidance has made him the ultimate resource for me and more importantly, his kindness and love has been most comforting, especially in times of need.
While there is no one in my life whom I have ever ever look up to more than my own father, here at Blessed Sacrament, Monsignor Finn has
been a “second-father” to me, and I will be forever grateful!
A Message From Our President, Jill Kissel
With the end of the year
approaching, I would like to mention our two upcoming “main events”. Our annual Basket Auction will be
held on May 31st and all donations are being accepted. Please consider donating to our very last fundraiser which has been successful year in
and year out. Our Block Party will be held on June 11th. This event is so wonderful and truly shows our Blessed Sacrament
spirit. Volunteers are always welcome for both events.
Feel free to contact the chairs of the events or reach out to me via email
for volunteer questions. In April we held our “Thank You
Dinner.” This gave the guild board members a chance to thank all of our
volunteers for their hard work and dedication throughout the school
year. We look forward to seeing you at our final meeting of the school
year! _______________________
Thank you Monsignor Finn for
your many years of service to
our parish, our school and the
entire community! Your
