We are truly excited about this year’s lineup which exemplifies the best of everything the McCallum has brought to our audiences over the past three decades. Our Broadway season is one of the finest in years and features four McCallum Theatre debuts. And signature McCallum series including Broadway and Beyond, Fitz’s Jazz Café at the McCallum, Jeffrey Siegel’s Keyboard Conversations® and Mitch’s Picks are all back, each with their characteristic mix of excellence.

Look forward to visits by some of the most popular artists in McCallum history, along with several new and sensational surprises. We are particularly excited by our Leonard Bernstein Centennial Celebration, the McCallum debut of comedy icon Bill Murray like you’ve never seen him before in a unique musical program, an eight-show run by McCallum favorites Pink Martini, and some doo wop, a cappella, mariachi, topical humor, an operetta, a Sherlock Holmes mystery and much, much more. Two bands that are Hot, Hot, Hot! Davina Sowers and The Vagabonds have created a stir on the national music scene with their high-energy live shows. With influences ranging from Fats Domino and the Preservation Hall Jazz Band to Aretha Franklin and Tom Waits, the band is closer to New Orleans than to Chicago. The Squirrel Nut Zippers are celebrating 25 years of making music that’s a fusion of Delta Blues, Gypsy Jazz and Swing Revival. NPR’s “Morning Edition” said: “It’s not easy to categorize the music of the Squirrel Nut Zippers, except that it’s hot.”

For the first time ever, these three exciting Mexican artists are coming together to celebrate Dia de los Muertos by showcasing the diverse sounds of modern Mexico. Los Angeles-based La Santa Cecilia’s unique sound blends Latin rhythms with rock and world music, earning them a Grammy for Best Latin Rock Album. Mexrrissey caringly reimagines songs by Morrissey and The Smiths in Spanish with a definitive Mexican instrumentation and voice. Under the Streetlamp is coming to Palm Desert for a live, one-night-only performance. Featuring former leading cast members of hit Broadway musicals including Jersey Boys, this is a concert celebration of classic hits of the American Radio Songbook from the 1950s-1970s. As we bring in the holiday season, enjoy their unique blend of tight harmonies as they join with The Desert Symphony in classic holiday songs along with favorite Doo-Wop, Motown and old time Rock ‘n’ Roll hits.

Cirque de la Symphonie is a unique and exciting production designed to bring the magic of cirque to the music hall. It is an elegant adaptation of some of the most amazing cirque performances witnessed anywhere, and it showcases many of the best artists in the world. Their performances are uniquely adapted to stage accommodations shared with The Desert Symphony. Each artist’s performance is choreographed to music selected by the maestro.

Throughout his busy career, Craig A. Meyer was repeatedly approached about his striking resemblance to Elton John and his uncanny ability to sound like the rock and roll legend. He was eventually persuaded to expand his repertoire and began impersonating Sir Elton John. Today, he is considered to be the best Elton John tribute artist in the market whose strong vocals, striking resemblance and amazing talent on the piano has audiences everywhere remembering when rock was young. Performing for the third time with The Desert Symphony.

In 2011, Windborne paid homage to “The King of Pop”... Michael Jackson!! by creating our first venture outside of the Classic Rock series. But we still reach back in time to present Michael’s music spanning a 40-year career... including selections from the Jackson 5 all the way up to his recently released movie “This Is It!” Felicia, Kelli and the band lead the audience through an amazing catalog of material that has audiences out of their seats dancing and singing to all of the tunes that they know so well.
