About NROThe National Refai Organization is a registered NGO under theSocieties Registration Act XXXI-1860. NRO has been endeavoring forpoor and destitute people. NRO’s target area is most deserving yetmost forgotten by donors and government.

2. Recreational Activities

Everyone needs mentalPeace to over cometheir mental fatigue…

To take care ofthis, NRO has beenarranging manyrecreational activities. Along withfootball, cricket and volley ball,local games like Kabaddi, Dhodaand Bull Race were also held onthe day.

3. Environmental Education Workshop

The sessions onEnvironmentaleducation wereorganized in differentschools around differentthemes.

4. World Environment Day

NRO celebrated the dayby holding meeting.Later, a plantation wascampaign held in the farflung areas….

The walk was followedwithin environment mela.The posters were displayedalong with other promotionalmaterials

5. Rehabilitation Of Flood Affectees (Year 2010)

NRO worked for Flood Affecteesin stages:

• Initially, NRO rented outboats and people wereshifted at safer places.

• Secondly, different medical camps were organized.

• Later, livestock fertilizer and seeds were provided to poor farmers

That’s not it! Work is still being carried out

6. Workshop On Culture Of Peace/Human Rights Education

A workshop on cultureof peace / human rightseducation was alsoadministered at Layyahby NRO.

7. Medical Camps at Mouza Lohanch Nashaib and Mouza Sumra Nashaib

Ignored Oadh familiesare going throughmiserable life…

NRO administered differentmedical camps at differentplaces for the patients ofOadh family. They wereprovided free treatment andmedicines.

8. Project For Labours / Low Income Group

NRO has beenmediating in-betweenthe owners and laborers of the brickLines.

9. Women Relief, Welfare, Empowerment & Development Program

NRO is working for theprotection, relief,welfare, political,economic & legal rightand empowerment ofWomen. In this regard,Committee wasorganized.

KEHUL PROGRAM

Objective Of Kehul Program

To provide education, health, hygiene and other basics of life to the nomads along River Sindh known by the name of Kehuls. Also, help them getting out of the rivers to the land to lead a normal life.

An Overview Of Kehuls

Civilization along RiverSindh are one of the

oldest cultures.

Kehuls of river Sindh areVery particular type ofnomads who live entireperiod of life on boatssailing in River Sindh.

Due to shrinking ofriver size, it is feared that outsocial cascade will soon findKehuls absconding fromexistence.

Kehuls, due to their livingStyle have become anIgnored and marginalizedcommunity.

They lack everythingwhich may be termed asbasic human rights.

NRO has surveyed & studied this community and has established that Kehuls have great desire for bringing positive change in their lives
