HIC Summer school Program
June 1st-July 31st 2015 With a special Ramadan program.
Times and days & Rates
• From Monday _ Thursday : 10:00- 3:00 pm
• A special additional 2 hours are added in the morning for children whose parents work in the early mornings for an extra fee. Their day starts from 7:30 am-3 pm.
• Regular rates will be $40 weekly
• Special program will be $60 weekly.
• Every Saturday a special event is organized for summer school students from 11- 2
Curriculum and suggested subjects
• Age-appropriate Curriculum and lesson plans will be prepared for all teachers in advance.
• School will be divided into four different classes with two different schedules
Quranic sciences
Islamic studies Arabic Islamic

Classes and age groups
• Junior 1& 2 will have same schedule.
• Sophomores & seniors will have same schedule.
• Art will be divided into stations and will be chosen by student at time of registration.
• Extra activities and lessons will be added to accommodate the children who come to the special program.

• 10:00-10:15 assembly• 10:15-11:15 Quranic sciences• 11:15-12:00 Arabic• 12:00-12:20 lunch • 12:25-1:100 Islamic History.• 1:15-1:45 prayer & combined lesson by shiekh after Salah.• 1:45-2:15 Islamic studies.• 2:15- 3:00 Art stations and movie time.

Quran Curriculum• Junior 1: back of juz 3ammah
• Junior2: beginning of juz 3ammah.
• Sophomores: yasseen, ar-rahman, alwaaqi3ah
• Seniors: albaqarah.
Islamic history
• Junior 1 &2:
25 prophets in the Quran.
• Sophomores:
Stories of Sahabah & sahabeyyaat.
• Seniors:
stories of great muslim heroes that changed history.
Objective:
To instill love and pride in islam.
Arabic
• Junior 1 &2 :
Norraneyyah
• Sophomores:
fluency and beginners Grammar
• Seniors:
fluency, Grammar, & etymology. Objective:
To fluently read & understand the Quran.
Islamic studies
• Junior 1:
how to make wudu, five pillars and how to perform them, manners…..
• Junior 2:
99 names and explanations, tawheed, pillars of iman and islam
• Sophomores:
40 nawawee hadeeths, tawheed, manners and different topics
• Seniors:
40 nawawee hadeeths, qudsi hadeeths, tawheed, morning and night do3aa.
Objectives:
To know how to live Muslim.
Special days & events:
• Every Saturday a special event will be organized :
1. Two field trips
2. Two volunteer opportunities/special guest classes
3. Two Sports tournament.
4. Cook-off first Saturday of Ramadan.
5. Graduation ceremony & Art gallery.
Ramadan program:
• Summer school will not stop in Ramadan and will continue as usual for the first 20 days
• Last 10 days of Ramadan the summer school will be held after TaraweeH.
1. To give students opportunity to do 3ibadah
2. To keep students occupied so they do not distract worshippers or damage the masjid.
3. To make students connected with Ramadan and especially the last ten days since they will connect it with fun and adventure. [a special program will be prepared for this event]
4. Summer school will be off for two days of Eid then commence normally right after.
Art Stations
• Art will be divided by type as stations for the whole school.
• Students will register for the preferred art with school registration.
• Art Stations will include:
1. Drawing 1 [beginning]
2. Drawing 2 [advanced]
3. Bead and thread work
4. Pottery
5. Needle work /crochet.
Paper work to be prepared:
1. Registration forms
2. Lunch order forms
3. Field trip forms and permission slips.[ places will be determined after shopping for group ratings and accessability]
4. Tentative supply list for art supplies and teaching materials/ tentative budget.
5. Permissions from volunteer destinations [senior home, homeless shelter, orphanage & others] and tentative time frames.
