Meeting Notes
The guest speaker for the fourth general meeting was Tony Marco,
the Director of Human Resources, Nuclear, at Arizona Public Service.
The APS is the largest electrical utility in Arizona, and also houses the
largest nuclear plant in the nation. Mr. Marco gave a very useful
presentation on leadership skills and potential. Afterwards, the ac-
counting students attended Deloittes presentation, while the nance
students stayed to listen to Johnson & Johnson. Both corporations oer
many opportunities for accounting and nance graduates.
The next general meeting will be held on Friday, February 24. The
rms in attendance will be BDO and the Hispanic Association of Col-
leges and Universities (HACU).

Ronald McDonald House
On February 18, ALPFA volunteers visited the Ronald McDon-
ald House right across from Jackson Memorial Hospital. The mis-
sion of the Ronald McDonald House is to create, nd, and support
programs that directly improve the health and well being of chil-
dren across the world. The House consists of 28 rooms with children
and their families who are receiving life threatening surgeries and
operations. ALPFA FIU volunteers played with the children all day
including activities such as arts & crafts, painting, and puzzles. They
also had a barbeque for the children and their families. For more in-

Strategy and Business Development: Analyze client information, market data and competitor positioning for seniormanagement intelligence; work on project execution; conduct strategic analysis by leveraging business knowledge,
technical analysis, and modeling skills to provide incisive strategic insights.
Investor Relations: Assist in preparation of quarterly earnings documents, including the drafting of the press release andthe preparation of support documents; prepare presentations used by senior management at investor conferences;work with line of business finance teams to understand business drivers and help communicate the firms story.
Treasury / balance sheet: Work on managing the firm's liquidity and capital positions, establishing funds transfer pricingpolicy, analyzing the firm's line of business and consolidated earnings at risk, executing the firm's securitization pro-grams and managing the firm's relationships with rating agencies and fixed income investors.
Training and DevelopmentThe training program is designed to develop analytical talents, problem-solving skills, interpersonal and communication skills.It begins with two weeks of intensive training that includes a comprehensive overview of our firm and the finance division.Your training will focus on accounting and financial statement analysis, including other skills essential for success in your divi-sion. Throughout these informative two weeks, you will also meet senior finance managers, who will share their personal ex-periences at the firm and discuss our industrys immediate and future strategic challenges.
QualificationsWe seek highly motivated candidates, interested in a career in Finance. Other qualifications include:
Expected graduation date ranging from December 2011 to June 2012
GPA of 3.5 or above
Preferred majors include Finance, Accounting and MIS/CIS; however, all majors are considered
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and analytical skills
Basic understanding of financial statements, accounting procedures, internal and external reporting and variance analysis
Intermediate to advanced proficiency with MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access
All candidates must have the eligibility to work permanently in the U.S.
