    Meeting Notes

    The third general meeting of the Spring 2012 semester included a

    great networking game to allow members to open up more with each

    other. Afterwards, there was an informative presentation from Bank of

    America. Steven Monaco and Heather Lasher came down from Char-

    lotte to present to the students. They informed the members about the

    Finance Management Associate Program (FMAP) which is a two year

    associate development program. There are also plentiful opportunities

    available to both Accounting and Finance majors.

    Friday was also the last day to enter the Valentines Day Rae, as

    well as the last day to pay for membership without losing the points

    that have been accrued already.

    The next general meeting will be on Friday, February 17. The rms

    that will be presenting will be Deloitte and Johnson & Johnson.

    Position Summary

    The Financial Professional Associate posion is a sales posion with The Prudenal Insurance Company of America

    selling insurance and nancial services. Financial Professional Associates parcipate in a comprehensive development

    program, developing product knowledge, and selling experience while oering appropriate insurance and investment

    products to help clients meet their nancial goals. Aer the training and development program, many will connue to

    be nancial services generalists, assisng clients with a range of insurance and investment needs; others will go on to

    develop a specialty, such as fee-based nancial planning, insurance for business needs, or estate planning needs.

    Overall Duties and Responsibilities

    Sell insurance and investment products

    Solicit new customers through approved techniques and methods

    Conserve exisng insurance and investments products

    Service the insurance and investment needs of all owners of policies issued or oered by Prudenal Financial

    companies.

    Essential Job Functions

    It is important that Financial Professional Associates be capable of mastering the complexies of the job, connually

    learning new products, informaon, and approaches. As our representave, the Financial Professional Associate must

    have a full understanding of all our products and be able to recommend to customers the appropriate soluons that

    are in the interest of the customer. The end result of the Financial Professional Associates work is to develop long-

    term relaonships between us and the policyholder that will impact the personal welfare of many people.

    The Financial Professional Associates general dues include the responsibility to:

    Prospect for clients, develop insurance and investment programs and make sales presentaons regularly for a

    broad range of life and non-life insurance contracts and nancial products and services sold by Prudenal Finan-

    cial companies.

    Propose insurance and investment products appropriate to the applicants needs and ability to pay.

    Make the necessary adjustments in the policyholders porolio in light of changes in the policyholders needs. Alt-

    hough many transacons are handled by the Customer Service Oce, an Financial Professional Associate should

    understand how to provide services, such as processing loans, surrenders, changes in beneciary, claims, policyopons, and the like, as well as being able to explain to customers the eect of these transacons.

    Maintain in force the exisng insurance and investments products of clients, secure the reinstatement of insur-

    ance that has lapsed, and perform all the dues incident to the care and conservaon of the business assigned by

    Prudenal. This may apply to all policies, whether or not the insurance was originally sold by the Financial Profes-

    sional Associate.

    Maintain records of account, and render when required, on forms provided by Prudenal, a report of all business

    transacted and complete accounng of all monies received on behalf of Prudenal Financial companies.

    Conform to and abide by the procedures, rules and requirements of Prudenal Financial companies, of regulatory

    bodies, and the state or states where the Financial Professional Associate operates.
