88 Equipment was honored to be invited to participate and present solutions to the International Workshop on Higher Education Equipment Supply and Laboratory Management for the New University of Science and Technology of Hanoi (UTSH), held on Oct. 16, 2014 in Hanoi. This was followed with an invitation from the Rector of VNU (Vietnam National University Hanoi) to attend the 10th Anniversary Ceremony. The kindness, sincerity, and enthusiasm of everyone we met was quite overwhelming and touching. We have made many new friends and we look forward to many years of cooperation. A few photos from each event are shown.

88 Equipment was fortunate to attend the first ever Semi Sponsored Event in South America. It was the longest trip I have ever been on (31+hrs. of travel one-way!) but with my wife Julie at my side and the wonderful arrangements made by Semi and the Host Company Unitec Blue our visit to Buenos Aires will never be forgotten. Many old friends were in attendance, notably Cor Claeys from IMEC, and Zheng Yuan, my colleague from WJ, and many new friends and contacts were made. Buenos Aires is a lovely city, I hope to return some day. (just watch out for the guys on bicycles!) A few photos from our long journey and the event are shown.

Once we got to the hotel after our 2 day journey it was pretty late. Surprised they already had Christmas decorations! Had a nice dinner then crashed, recovered the next day and went out to a nice steak house that Cors knew.

The first Seminar day was a bus trip to the Unitec Blue packaging fab. Interesting tour (but not allowed to take photos inside). A great lunch, then a sleepy ride back to the Hotel. Evening time was a mixer event sponsored by Unitec Blue. Saludé!

The second and third day were the speeches, presentations, and various panel discussions. The event was standing room only the first day then trickled down the second. (too much beef and desserts I think). Then for dinner we went to a Tango Show. (no not that kind of Tango!)

88 Equipment 3rd Anniversary in Business Nov 14
Pete and Todd celebrated our 3rd anniversary this month as partners. We both moved to Taiwan 15 years ago and a lot has changed in our lives since then. We both have less hair, new wives, and more kids (Pete has two great children) and my first grandchild is due in April 2015. Pete lost his glasses and I found mine, go figure. We have met a lot of good people in our industry and made lasting relationships. We have different personalities but the same mind-set to taking care of our clients and families. Old engineers never die, they just tinker slower!
