The US News and World Report has ranked Dr. Michael M. Krop Senior High School within the
TOP 10% of public high schools nationwide for the past TWO
DECADES.
* Krop Senior serves approximately 2300 students and has a
long-standing history of excellence in academics, athletics, activities, and the arts!* Our yearly graduation rate is over 90%. Both the national and state averages are around 80%. Of that 90%, 95% attend two & four-year colleges & universities.
* Our Athletic Program is ranked in the TOP 5 among all ofMiami-Dade County High Schools.
* Our Activities Program includes over 60 groups with which you can get involved.
* Our STAR Magnet Program is ranked in the top 5% of magnet schools in the nation.

Absences –
* Students may be legitimately absent from school for the following
reasons: Student illness, medical appointment, death in the family,
observance of a religious holiday acknowledged by a majority of the
faith, and a school sponsored event or activity previously approved
* Students have 72 hours after an absence to present documentation regarding the absence.
* Failure to obtain an excused absence will result in the student not being able to complete work missed in class while absent.
Tardies –
DON’T BE LATE! Class begins at 7:20. You are expected to be in
class when the bell rings.
**20 / 10 RULE for Athletics and Activities**
School Board policy - Students may NOT have 10 or more absences or 20 or more tardies in order to participate in
athletics or activities.
Absences –
Absences shall be reported by the parent/legal guardian no later than three(3)
days from the date of the absence.
1) Go to the Home Page of kropseniorhigh.org, click on the Student and Parent tab,
and then click on the Attendance link.
2) Student must pick up admit in attendance office during their lunch time 48 hours after
reporting absence
3) Student must take admit to teachers to get absence excused by teacher.
4) Lost Admit Passes will require a research request in the attendance office for duplicate.
5) Research timeline is limited to 1 week after pass was issued.
6) After the 10th absence, an official doctor’s note, court document or other relevant
requested documentation is required for the absence to be excused.

All students must complete and submit the Code of StudentConduct Acknowledgement no later than Friday, October 8.
Please complete and submit the Media Release Form no later than Friday, October 8. All students must have this
completed form on file at the school.
Dr. Michael M. Krop Senior High is a mandatory uniform school. Students are expected to come to school every day
with the proper uniform. Additionally, students must wear their ID around their necks at all times due to safety.
Shoes - All students must wear closed-toe shoes that are secured around the heel. No slides, sandals, crocs, or any other type of strapless or open toe shoes will be allowed due to safety.
Shirts - Collared shirts or T-shirts in white, black, purple, or gray with school logo affixed due to safety. Approved Kropathletic, club, or spirit T-shirts may also be worn.
Outerwear – It should be solid in color in white, black, purple, or gray. It is highly recommended that the school logo be affixed to the outerwear due to safety.
Bottoms - Blue, black, tan, gray, white or beige jeans, pants, joggers, athletic pants, knee-length skirts, or shorts.
Headwear - No headwear is allowed due to safety.

a wealth of information about college admissions and scholarship opportunities.
As a reminder, in order to graduate:
- You must maintain a 2.0 unweighted GPA.
- You must have 24 credits:
* 4 math credits * 1 physical education
* 4 language arts credits * 1 fine art
* 3 science * 8 electives
* 3 social science
- One of your credits must be received by passing a Florida Virtual Class.
- You must pass the Algebra 1 EOC & Florida Standard Assessment Reading (Reading & Writing)
Phone Calls and Emails through the Dadeschools School Messenger System – Please ensure that your phone number and email is kept up to date to receive these important messages.
BAND Application – BAND is an app that can be downloaded onto any smart phone. Each class (2022, 2023, 2024, & 2025) has their own BAND group. Information about school activities and events is communicated directly with the students through this app. The QR codes to allow students to join their class’ BAND app can be located on Krop’s website on the Home Page of the Activities Tab.

Student Dadeschools Email – All communication with Faculty and Staff via email should be done through the student’s Dadeschools email account. Students can access their district email through their student portal. A student’s email is studentID#@students.dadeschools.net
Krop YouTube Channel – Pertinent videos will be uploaded to Krop’s own YouTube channel (When videos are uploaded, the link to access the videos will be promoted.)
