This lesson will focus on different building designs and construction typically linked to Ancient Greece. First let’s look at the different types of building and architecture examples found in the resource section below. Look at the differences and similarities between them. How can we identify Ancient Greek architecture? Follow the link to discover how. https://www.ancient.eu/video/685/metkids--how-can-i-recognize-ancient-greek-archite/ There are three different types of column found in Greek buildings. Looking at the examples found in resources, draw an Ionic column using the template provided. Why not design your very own temple using a different type of Greek column?
Complete worksheet found in the resources area.
Challenge
Now, complete the activity sheet in the resources section below. Then, using some of the imperative verbs from the song, write your own command sentences.
Tuesday Maths
Focus – To be able to scale numbers Practise mental arithmetic by playing game https://www.topmarks.co.uk/maths-games/mental-maths-train
Discuss what children think scaling might mean (doubling, halving, 3 times more, etc.) Think about the different vocabulary associated with it. Watch video https://vimeo.com/494127943
English Focus- To be able to identify the features of a set of instructions.
Today we are going to look at an example of instructions and find all the features, all the parts that we must include when writing a set of instructions. Watch these links: https://www.bbc.co.uk/bitesize/topics/zgqxwnb/articles/zfrcmfr https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IVU8AvBScvA&feature=emb_logo Now, using the instruction example below in the resources section, annotate (find and label) it with the features we have discussed today. Use this list of features to help you annotate the example below:
1. Headings and Subheadings 2. Introduction paragraph
Science Focus-To know why animals and humans have a skeleton. What is a skeleton? Discuss with an adult what you think it is and its purpose. Follow the link to discover more. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p0118bj9
Look at pictures of different skeletons in resources. Which animal do you think they belong to? With each discuss with an
