3.1 Program of Study/Integration 3.1.a. Academy program of study includes four NAF courses or approved alternative, by completion of the program with themes from these courses integrated into core academic content 3.1.b. Project-based learning is the primary vehicle by which NAF course themes are integrated into the core subjects, providing relevant context for student learning

3.2 Use of NAF Instructional Practices 3.2. a. Academy teachers regularly use NAF-endorsed literacy strategies 3.2. b. Academy teachers share best practices and demonstrate lessons with others in the academy or school and across the NAF network

3.3 Instructional Supports 3.3. a. Academy team, advisory board and school counselors ensure that sufficient academic supports mentoring, tutoring, Saturday classes, and skills workshops) exist to help students succeed in academy and core classes 3.3. b. There is an organized approach to identifying students at risk of failure accompanied by an intervention system to address improvement

3.4. College and Career Readiness 3.4.a Academy intentionally builds students' knowledge related to college, helping them understand the post-secondary system, research college options and navigate issues such as testing, applications and financial aid 3.4. b. All students take a program of study that makes them eligible for admission to a state college 3.4. c. Students have access to post-secondary options through articulation agreements, dual enrollment, Advanced Placement courses, or other formal activities 3.4. d. The academy participates in the NAF student certification assessment process.

4.1 Work-Based Learning Program 4.1.a. Development of a four-year program of sequenced work-based learning experiences that include activities with career awareness, career exploration, and career preparation guarantee that students are provided with learning opportunities that grow in sophistication, duration, and intensity

4.1.b. Work-based learning activities reinforce NAF and core curricula and emphasize the College & Career Readiness skills needed for future success in college and the workforce

4.1.c a Continuous evaluation process is in place to assess the effectiveness of the work-based learning program and to plan for programmatic refinements
