The message is not frighten people but to make them know and respect copyrighting, in addition to help support official films and TV programs. The idea should make people think twice about and should answer why it is important to respect copyright?

Nearly all posters relating to piracy and copyright are negative, finger pointing and even shock value. However these tactics are clearly not working as millions of people still download music, films etc. All it seems to do is spur people on and continue to download things illegally.

Another idea was to scatter a pile of pirated DVD’s and place a couple copies of proper DVD’s and see if people can tell the difference. In my opinion telling them apart is really simple. The main difference being the cases, having a proper hard case instead of a flimsy plastic bag looking case thay could easily get damaged.

An idea I had was to have a series of images where one person has a legitimate cases and copy of a DVD, where another person has a legitimate case but pirate and the quality is pretty poor.
