Flexible Career and Staff Development

The university level courses we offer are all designed with careers in mind, so they provide you with the practical skills and professional knowledge required by employers.

We offer a range of: HNDs (Higher National Diplomas); HNCs (Higher National Certificates); Foundation Degrees, Top-up Degrees and Teacher Education programmes, some of which are validated with the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan).

Students progress onto further study at degree or masters level and many go straight into employment after completing their university level course.

If you are currently employed or seeking to develop the skills of existing employees

then a part-time course may offer the flexibility needed to fit around

busy work and family commitments.

Many employers and employees study with us each year to generate new skills to take into the workplace. Enhanced knowledge can help boost business performance and stimulate innovation – whilst motivating and empowering the employee themselves.

Journey: Started at Wigan & Leigh College and has gone on to complete a Masters Degree at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) and is currently studying a PhD

Applying for a loan is easy

Contact our Admissions team who will offer you advice and discuss how to apply for your course and support you through the process.For full-time courses apply to UCAS, the central organisation through which full-time applications are processed for entry to higher education: www.ucas.com. Support to complete your application to UCAS is available from Admissions. For part-time courses please contact our Admissions team who will guide you through the application process.

There is financial help available so you don’t have to pay up-front for your course fees.

Fees for September 2015 entry

Full-time university level courses: £6,000 per year

Part-time university level courses: Foundation Degree: £4,000 per year

HNC/HND: £1,800 per year (Four units)

PGCE/Cert Ed: £3,000 per year

English or EU full-time or part-time students can apply online to Student Finance England for a tuition fee loan.

This is paid directly to the College. You only make repayments when your income is over £21,000 a year.

Maintenance loans and grants help with living costs (e.g. accommodation, books and bills). Tuition fee and maintenance loans are repayable but maintenance grants are not.
