7 museums (combining 486 individual pieces) have been added to Google’s Cultural Institute and its mobile apps have been launched in Japan.

The mobile apps are not under Google Cultural Institute but each individual museum or organisation instead.

The museums were required to partner with the search engine in order to create the apps.

The AdWords Japan blog offered advice on creating great YouTube ads based on the best examples this year so far:

1. To generate likes and shares, try to:

* relay an experience

* consider casting animals, as well as celebrities

* telling a story without having to use language

2. Collaborate with popular YouTubers

3. Tie in to seasonal events, where possible (ie. Fathers’ Day)

4. Create an alternative version to your TV advert

ShopCo, a platform which mediates between shops and customers is being regarded by experts as a future competitor of Amazon.

People don’t need to register with ShopCo directly, and one click buys the product.

The idea of intermediate companies is not new but there may be legal and risk management implications. Delivery and payment methods may also pose problems.

Seasonality in France is very much dictated by the school calendar, which sees a two-month holiday in Summer. As a result, most workers also take 1 to 2 months off.

Top CEOs and even the President will be out of the office between 15th of July and 15th of August, or alternatively the whole of August.

This break also spreads to TV, radio and internet: TV stations will often show re-runs and don’t be surprised to see the message “At the beach, see you in September" on a website…

Amazon has now launched in Mexico.

The online retail giant is set to enter Latin America beginning with Mexico.

Previously, Mexicans had to shop via the US site which made products more expensive through the additional postage costs.Source: http://tecnologia.elpais.com/tecnologia/2015/06/30/actualidad/1435620391_325245.html (ESP)

25% of online ads are seen by bots, not people.

Keith Weed, Marketing Manager at Unilever, estimates that $6-10m per year is wasted on advertisements that are never seen by a human.

In an interview in the New York Times, he identified the three main challenges of fraud, visibility and ad-blocking, and called upon the industry to create solutions that ensure ads are only shown to real people.
