• Began in 2017 as part of FooD-STA project.

• Focus on a specific theme e.g., Shelf Life, Food, Energy and Water Losses, Healthy Beverages,

• Teams identify a specific problem for the food industry and design a solution to that problem.

• Several on-line trainings.

• Present projects at a Final Virtual Conference.

• Aim is for the group to agree on 1 favorite best practice in SFSC.• This should be a best practice that you want to learn more about• There should be a contact person(s) for getting more info on this practice

• Choose 1 person in the group as rapporteur. That person will present the best practice in plenary; 1 minute presentation.

• Exchange info so the group can finalise their best practice recommendation• Best practice title + contact person info due to organisers by 01/11/21

Assignments Due.3. Short Presentation for Student Presentation Training

• On Thursday 28 October 2021 at 4.00-5.30 PM CET, one member of each team will give a maximum 5-minute presentation on a practical experience they had related to SFSC e.g. an internship, a visit to a company, a volunteer activity.

• If no one on the team has had any practical experience, someone should visit a company or lab in the coming week, for instance the company that is your industry mentor.

• Instructions for the presentation are on the website, Online Trainings tab.

• Each breakout group submits 1 idea (study/event/paper on a best practice in SFSC + contact person(s) for this idea) by 23:59 CET on 1 November 2021.• Send your idea in an email to [email protected]

• At the “Student Suggestion” online training 15 December 2021 at 4-5.30 PM CET, we will cover topic(s) suggested by the student groups.

Assignments Due.5. Pick a 30 min slot for Project Review

• During the week of 29 November 2021, at least 2 members from each team meet with the competition organisers for 15 to 30 minutes in order to review progress and pose questions.• Team leaders pick the time slot via a soon-to-be-available GoogleDrive

document, ProjectReviewScheduleStudents. You need a Google account to access this.

• Team members come to the review with a draft presentation, that is some slides outlining their project.

FoodFactory-4-Us Final Virtual Conference

• 16 January 2022: Submission of the project presentation and report:

• 27 January 2022: Final Virtual Conference – all teams present their project in the presence of industry and multiplayer representatives

• The Winning Team is chosen!!!

• Prizes: • The Winning Team of the FoodFactory-4-Us Edition 2021/22 will receive:

• An award of EUR 300 sponsored by the ISEKI-Food Association.

• At least one member of the winning team will be invited to the NextFOOD Final Project Meeting, scheduled for spring 2022 (planned in Brussels), where they will give their winning presentation to project partners and other invited stakeholders and thus contribute to the overall value of the NextFOOD project. Economy airfare within Europe, 2 nights accommodation and project dinner will be paid.

• Each member of the winning team will receive the corresponding certificates as winners

• And finally...• Each team member of the competition will receive a Certificate of Participation in the

FoodFactory-4-Us Sustainable Supply Chain Competition.
