general information

Printed menus are only guidelines. Our event and sales staff will be happy to prepare customized proposals to meet your specific needs. All prices are subject to change. Confirmation of menu prices will be made by your event manager. In arranging for private functions, the attendance must be definitely specified three business days in advance or the expected

number will be used. This number will be considered your guarantee and not subject to reduction. We will set and pre-pare 3% over the guarantee for groups of 100 guests and over. For groups under 100 guests, we will set and prepare 5% over the guaranteed number.

payment All functions must be paid in full at least 72 hours prior to the date of the event. Additional credit or payment must be es-tablished in advance for on consumption event phases (bars, etc.).

service charge and sales tax

All Food & Beverage, Room Rental, Audio Visual charges are subject to a 25% Service Charge* and 9.25% State Tax.

Our menu prices are based on meal functions with round tables of (10) guests each. Should your group require round ta-bles of (8) guests, a charge will apply for the additional service staff required. The fee for additional servers, carvers, station attendants and cocktail servers is $200.00 per server per event. An additional $250.00 service charge may be applicable for

any meal guarantee of less than (25) guests. room turn labor fee

Groups that require any function room turns or resets on the same day will be subject to a $500.00 fee. Multiple turns in-cur a change fee for each occurrence.

All food and beverage must be provided by the San Jose Marriott. We are not an allergen or gluten free environment and products containing gluten are prepared in our kitchens. Be advised the possibility exists for food items to come into con-tact with other food products in shared preparation areas. Please inform your server of your dietary concerns.

engineering Electrical needs exceeding existing 120 volt / 20 amp wall plug service must be arranged in advance and are subject to an

additional charge. Fire safety guidelines mandate no use of open flames including sparklers. Please consult with your Event Manager for additional information.

Pertinent Information

security The hotel may require security officers for certain events at the discretion of the hotel and customers expense. Only

hotel approved security companies or officers carrying a minimum of $1,000,000 in liability insurance may be utilized. The use of smoke/haze/fog machines is strictly prohibited in any indoor area of the hotel as they interfere with the fire life safety systems. Should your entertainment, program, band or disc jockey utilize a smoke or fog machine (without

the prior consent of the San Jose Marriott Security & Engineering Department) which results in the dispatch of the San Jose Fire Department to our location, the charges for the dispatch and false alarm will be passed on to your entity.

decorations & package inclusions Arrangements for floral centerpieces, special props, equipment, etc. may only be made through the hotel’s event plan-

ning team. All props and decorations must meet with the regulations set forth by the San Jose Fire Department. All candles and candleholders must be enclosed by glass. Only hotel approved vendors may be utilized. The follow-ing items listed under packages are defined as:

Chairs — Chiavari in gold, silver, or crystal with cream, white, or black pads. A chair cover with white sash may be chosen in place of chiavari chairs.

Classic Wedding Cake — A three tier contemporary and classic cake designs in round or square layers, to

serve up to 100 guests, For servings over 100 guests a sheet cake will be provided in the appropriate size. Traditional cake and filling choices are included. All San Jose Marriott’s couples will receive a complimentary

cake tasting (done at vendor facility) to select cake and filling flavors and design. This includes delivery and place- ment of fresh flowers on the cake, if they are left by the florist. During the cake tasting / consultation, if the couple has ideas or images of cakes, cake expressions will determine if they are classic or if there designs are

upgrades. Couples can inquire about costs for upgrades such as white chocolate fondant, complex designs, decorations and specialty fillings. All upgrades will be paid by the couple directly to Cake Expressions. A one year Anniversary Cake will be offered in exchange for an 8 x 10 photo of the couple’s wedding cake. Cupcakes will be offered in exchange for couples who do not wish to have a wedding cake.
