Dear Parents

Die eerste kwartaal vlieg nou behoorlik verby. Ons kinders neem op soveel gebiede deel en dit is nogal ‘n uitdaging om

almal by al die verskillende sportbyeenkomste te kry. Ons wil maar weer ‘n beroep op ons ouers doen om ons te help met

vervoer na die verskillende sportbyeenkomste.

COMMITMENT TO SELECTED TEAMS

We want to urge our parents not to withdraw learners from teams at short notice. It does not create a good impression when

we arrive at matches with too few players, whereafter we are perceived as having bad organization. We often have to

organize additional players at very short notice and this is not always possible. We aim to instill a value system within our

learners where they commit to their school and their teammates can rely on them.

CELL PHONES AND WHATSAPPS

Teachers and Coaches will NOT correspond with parents via cell phone and/or WhatsApp. If individual teachers ignore this

policy of the school, they do this on their own accord and with prior arrangement with their parents. Parents who contact

teachers via WhatsApp will not be answered – please make use of e-mails. There will be occasions when urgent matters

arise. This will be dealt with accordingly and/or prior arrangements will be put in place (camps, tours, etc.).

aand oor onbenullige sake. Die personeel het toestemming om nie op WhatsApps te reageer nie.

BEHEERLIGGAAMTUSSENVERKIESING

Ons herinner ons ouers aan ons Beheerliggaamtussenverkiesing wat vanaand plaasvind. Die kanse is baie goed dat daar

nie ‘n kworum van 186 mense sal opdaag nie en daarom gee ons alreeds vir u ook die alternatiewe datum vir die volgende

Tussenverkiesing (26 Februarie 2020) waarvoor daar nie ‘n kworum nodig is nie.

We have a vacancy on the Governing Body for the portfolio BUILDING and TERRAIN. Mrs Emmarentia Stipp was nominated

onto the Governing Body in the vacant position in December 2019. Mrs Stipp has indicated that she is willing to serve on

the Governing Body permanently and has been nominated. Emmarentia is a Civil Engineer at the City of Cape Town and

has 20 years of experience. Her expertise has already proven valuable during our building project. Emmarentia belongs to

IMESA (Institute of Municipal Engineers South Africa) and serves on their National Council and is Chairman for their Western

Cape branch.

DROPPED OFF AT RECEPTION

Ons wil graag ‘n versoek aan ouers rig om asb. nie

vergete sportklere en pakkies deur die loop van die dag

skool toe te bring nie. Ons verstaan as ‘n leerder se

kosblik afgelaai word, maar die res veroorsaak

geweldige onderbrekings in die klas deur die loop van

die dag. Ons waardeer u samewerking.

We would like to request all parents to please avoid

dropping off sport clothes or parcels, forgotten at home,

during the course of the day. We understand when a

learner’s lunchbox is dropped off, but the rest cause

tremendous interruptions in the class throughout the

day. We appreciate your co-operation.

EVERJAS PARKERING

Ons vra asseblief dat ouers nie op die Everjas parkering voor die Heinie Brandvleuel (Hek 11) sal parkeer nie. Those

two parkings are resevered for the Everjas personnel. They need those parkings when stock is delivered. En op ‘n

Woensdagaand is die parkering vir hulle eie veiligheid.

LEGO WANTED!

Eversdal is busy with a big Lego Project. Indien daar enige Lego stukke (sien foto onder) rondlê waarop daar

gereeld getrap word, kan u daarvan ontslae raak en skool toe stuur vir ons Lego Projek. Lego pieces must the size

as shown below. Please send Lego pieces to your class teacher. Let’s get building!

SWEM

Donderdag, 13 Februarie 2020, het ons swemmers aan `n gemengde aflosgala by Kenridge deelgeneem. Die skole

wat meegeding het, was Laerskool Welgemoed, Laerskool Jan van Riebeeck, Laerskool Van Riebeeckstrand,

Laerskool Stellenbosch en Laerskool Kenridge. Eversdal came second overall. The swimmers enjoyed the Relay Gala

thoroughly. Well done, to all our swimmers!

ATLETIEK

Eversdal het 14 atlete gehad wat die Durbell Streekspan verteenwoordig het by die Metro-Noord Atletiekkampioen-

skappe op Saterdag, 15 Februarie, in Atlantis. Dit het gedien as die tweede rondte uitdunne vir WP atletiek. We are

proud to announce that 11 of our athletes qualified to represent the Metro North team on Friday, 28 February, at the

WP Athletic Championships in Paarl.

KRIEKET

Eversdal se senior spanne het verlede week teen verskeie skole meegeding, insluitend Kings College vanaf Engeland.

Daar is in totaal 11 wedstryde van 0/10 – 0/13 gespeel, waarvan ag gewen is. Baie dankie aan ons Evers wat te alle

tye met respek teenoor hulle opponent optree.
