The first round of funding for 2017 opened at 9am on Thursday, 26th January 2017

The Veolia Mulwaree Trust provides two types of funding; donations and grants.

Donations – Organisations may apply for a one-off donation of up to $1,000 by completing the donation application form. Donations are not subject to GST. Organisations are requested to inform the Veolia Mulwaree Trust of the general use of the donation.

Arts and Cultural Infrastructure Grants

The Arts and Cultural Infrastructure grants funding round is now open. The focus of the

2017 round is on the development and enhancement of arts and cultural facilities.

Liquor & Gaming NSW is inviting applications for projects that support communities across

NSW to increase participation in arts and culture and drive cultural tourism. Projects with a

particular focus on disadvantaged and regional and remote communities will be highly

regarded.

construction, alteration, renovation and fit-out of buildings

purchase of capital equipment integral to a facility, i.e. seating, stage machinery, lighting,

audio-visual equipment, sound systems, air conditioning or accessibility upgrades.

Preference will be given to projects that are able to demonstrate they are ready to commence, with relevant planning and building approvals in place, and underway.

How much funding is available?

The funding range available for a single project is between $100,000 and $300,000.

Building Better Regions Fund (BBRF) The BBRF will run over four years from 2016-17 to 2019-20 and will only be available in rural, regional and remote communities excluding major capital cities. KEY POINTS:

The BBRF will have two streams of funding (there are different guidelines for each of the two streams): 1. The Infrastructure Projects Stream ($20,000-$10 million) will invest in projects that involve the construction of new infrastructure, or the upgrade or extension of existing infrastructure that provides economic and social benefits to regional and remote areas. 2. The Community Investments Stream ($5,000-$10 million) will invest in local events and activities, strategic regional plans and leadership and capability building activities that provide economic and social benefits to regional and remote communities.

The BBRF will only invest in projects located outside of major capital cities (projects in Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane will not be eligible for BBRF).

Inspired by the power of local communities, Holden started the Home Ground Advantage grants program - to help clubs improve facilities, purchase equipment and even develop exceptional talent. During both the summer and winter rounds, we will award a total of $250,000 in grants. Sporting clubs can request any amount up to the full $250,000, but it would have to be a super-exceptional project for us to award all the funds to a single club. Home Ground Advantage grant applications will be considered for the below: 1. Tangible projects Including upgrading, constructing or improving facilities, upgrading or

purchasing equipment, and buying uniforms and other assets 2. Developing exceptional talent – Including special coaching or funding for trips to

compete or gain experience. Limitations To be eligible to receive a Grant, an applicant for the Grant (Applicant) must be: a sporting club created for the purpose of playing one or more sports; or a community organisation which runs and supports sporting activities as a part of its

community activities, and the sporting activities conducted by the organisation must be within Australia.

Holden reserves the right to consider Applicants that do not fall within the eligibility criteria set out above. The NSW Government is launching Round 3 of the Social Housing Community

Improvement Fund (SHCIF). The SHCIF aims to create better and stronger social housing

communities by improving local amenities through the provision of one-off grants. Community organisations, local councils and private sector organisations are encouraged

to apply.

• Do you have a project that would improve the liveability and amenity of a NSW social

housing community?

• Do you need funding to get the project up and running?

We are looking for projects that physically improve the liveability and amenity adjacent to, or on, social housing communities or sites. This includes improving community facilities, enhancing open spaces, increasing accessibility for older people or people with

disability, improving safety or facilitating better integration between social housing and

the surrounding community.

What do you need to know?

• Applications will open in March 2017 for six weeks.

• SHCIF applications can be made for projects to improve any social housing community.

• Projects will be assessed against the SHCIF program’s criteria.

The John Fries Award 2017 for early career artists is a non-acquisitive award of $10,000 with all finalists receiving an artist’s fee of $1000 each. It is an exciting opportunity for artists working in all media from painting to conceptual art, from performance to photography, and aims to encompass the multiplicity of contemporary practice. Where projects are outside the scope of the allocated funding range, the Foundation welcomes partnership opportunities and encourages grantees to seek partnerships where there are shared values and aspirations across Australia.

Collaboration between groups who are searching to solve complex problems and issues particularly is encouraged and demonstration of need outlined, exhibited in research, would be sought.

The Foundation supports innovative solutions to solve issues. It has some interest in funding post-project evaluation, and then usually only when

Last Round Closed 18-Mar-2016 Purpose To provide opportunities for people to improve their life outcomes for their clients or the communities in which they live. Overview Each calendar year the Foundation will provide approximately $1million to programs, based either in NSW or South-East Queensland, which are designed to improve the life outcomes of their beneficiaries. There will be one (1) funding round per year with grants to be based on a minimum funding allocation of $50,000 for up to one (1) year to a maximum of $350,000 for a two (2) to three (3) year program, with final allocation to be dependent on the nature and extent of the project. The Greater Charitable Foundation will not fund retrospectively. The Foundation aims to partner with a small number of organisations at a time to ensure the programs are well resourced and supported, and to enable comprehensive measurement of program effectiveness and meaningful outcomes. The two key priority areas for funding are: Families and Communities FAMILIES

Projects which focus on the following: Providing support to vulnerable, marginalised and disadvantaged families. These

may include families with low incomes, young parent families, jobless families, sole parent families, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, families from culturally and linguistically diverse communities, families with a parent or child who has a disability, and families experiencing problems with housing, domestic violence, substance abuse and mental health;

Early intervention services for children and young people; Improving the health and wellbeing of families; Increasing access and pathways to services for regional and rural families; Strengthening family cohesion.

COMMUNITIES Projects which focus on the following:

Facilitating social enterprise, social entrepreneurship, training and employment; Enhancing community safety and wellbeing; Promoting child and youth social inclusion and engagement; Encouraging leadership and diverse educational opportunities; Strengthening community capacity through increasing connectedness.

Limitations Your organisation must be either an endorsed Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) or be specifically named as a DGR in Subdivision 30-B of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997. The Australian Government's Australian Business register Online enables you to search your organisation's name or ABN and see whether it is endorsed as a DGR. Accordingly, each applicant must provide: A copy of the applicant organisation's "Endorsement as a Deductible Gift Recipient"

issued by the ATO, OR the item number in which the applicant organization is named in Subdivision 30-B of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997.

The Greater Charitable Foundation cannot make grants to other private ancillary funds. If your notice of endorsement as a DGR states the "Provision for gift deductibility" is "item 2 of the table in section 30-15 of the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997", your organization will be an ancillary fund and therefore not entitled to receive grants. All organisations applying to the Foundation must also advise their ABN. Community Groups - An important point to consider before applying for grant funding

Please note, if your group is applying for a grant that requires Upper Lachlan Shire Council

to be the auspicing body, then you must consult with Council prior to applying for grant

funding to ensure that it aligns to Council’s current Community Strategic Plan. This applies to

all Section 355 Committees and all Community Groups, including not-for-profit groups,

charities, schools, playgroups, pre-schools and all other similar groups within the Upper
