Looking for a great way to help at the church this summer?
Below are some volunteer opportunities. Please call or stop in
the office to sign up! Any help goes a long way.
Outdoor Service—We need volunteers to help set up for 8:00 AM outdoor
worship. Please don’t be intimidated by all of the equipment, we can teach you!
No experience necessary.
Gardening—The garden is back for the season...unfortunately the weeds are
back too. We need people to help weed & pick vegetables. Also looking for help
with watering flower Planters.

Sunday School
We are on break from classes until Rally Day, Sunday, Sept. 11th. We are always looking for
volunteer help for our next season of classes. Please consider this. We welcome any help, whether it’s in a little or big way! However it fits you’re your schedule, it will fit into ours! Have a
great rest of the SUMMER!
Sunday School MEETING
We have an informational meeting set up for Sunday, August 28th at 6:30pm. This meeting is for
all teachers & shepherds to attend & meet your team. If you are not a teacher or a shepherd, but would like to try it out, COME, we’d love to have you! Use this time to figure out your year of planning with each other!
7th Grade “BASIC” Class
If you are in 7th grade this upcoming fall, we have a fun class for you! You will meet again on
Sept. 11th each week in the Youth room! This room is FULL of fun classes & games. We have
ping pong, foosball, air hockey, & a giant screen TV! The 7th gr. will also start looking forward to

United Redeemer Store
Come shop at our new United Redeemer clothing store! The store is located in Cindy’s office right now. We have clothes in stock to buy, with more styles/sizes to order! Check it out!
WELCA Calling all Women of URLC!
You are invited to our annual summer gathering of our congregation’s women – the
Women of the ELCA – or WELCA. The event begins at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday,
August 11, at the home of Joe & Marilyn Anderson.
Whether you participate in one of the church’s three WELCA Circles, are interested
in joining, or just want to come for the fellowship, be part of a Bible study, or have
coffee/lemonade and a dessert – please come!
The Andersons live at 14059 420th Street (approx. 5 mile from church). Those
wishing to carpool, should be at the church at 1:00. Or call Marilyn (251-7660) for
directions or if you have questions! Looking to have a good time – and good summer
weather!

We would like to recycle your cell phones to benefit the Hope Coalition. Money
will be earned for each recycled phone. If your cell is in good working order
please bag (or box) it up with its charger to be used as a 911 emergency phone
for Haven of Hope Women’s shelter in Red Wing.

PROJECT 3R United Redeemer Lutheran Church is getting a make-over. Coming soon—
renovated upstairs bathroom, new flooring throughout, new sidewalks and other
fix ‘er uppers.
There are a number of ways to give to the Project 3R Fund:
You can put a separate check with ‘3R’ on the memo line with your regular
offering.
You can put a check in an envelope marked ‘Project 3R” in the offering
plate.
You can mail or drop a check off at the office – just make sure to note that it
is for Project 3R.
You can access the automatic giving through the website at urlchurch.org.
Go to the ‘GIVING’ window and select MONEY. This takes you to the
donation page where you need to fill out all requested information and put
Project 3R in “Other Donations” description line.
If you want to keep things simple, you can e-mail the bookkeeper at
[email protected] and she can set up a one-time
gift or a reoccurring gift for you.

Devotions by Pastor Marggi Agenda Approval; motion to approve by Mary, second by Jana. All in favor, motion passed. Public Comments none April 2016 minutes correction: none April Minutes: motion to approve by Roger, second by Tim. All in favor, motion passed.

Treasure & Bills report April 2016 presented. Approval of bills; motion to approve by Mike, second by Tim. All in favor, motion passed Youth and Senior Reports presented. Trust Fund Report; 2016 Trust Fund Committee Approved Expenditures reviewed.
Action Item; Disbursement of the funds. The checks can be written anytime and in the check book for immediate use.
The Council thanks the Trust Fund Committee for all their hard work. Approval of Trust Fund Expenditures; motion to approve by Shirley, second Mike, motion
passed.
Pastor Report Pastor Marggi All is well.
President Report Dennis Larson Building walk through at end of meeting. 3R Update: monies at approximately $100,000.00 Technology Committee still needs to be formed with a leader to be found. Committee Meeting well attended. Sharing after small group provided good communication.
Next meeting will be in the fall. Meeting date to be set at next council meeting. New Members: Evangelism committee to meet over the summer. Membership Directory: Report compiled by Jessica. Presented by Roger. Look for a multi-
generational committee. Roger to put ad in Voice and bulletin looking for members.
Worship Mike Brengman Usher Training in September. Need Reader and Communion organizer. Meeting planned for further discussion.
Property Management Chuck Rohe
3R Plans; windows for interior doors. Directional signage for handicap assess to building. Direct to park in correct lot. Add more handicap parking spaces when surface is redone. As the quotes come in the council needs to decide how to move forward. Motion to form
committee of Chuck Rohe, Joe Anderson, Al Nilson, and Dennis Larson to approve bids for project work under 3R, by Roger, second by Tim, all in favor, motion passed.
Mission Support Mary Goplen for Joan Henrickson
Meeting being planned to work with committee and Marggi. Schedules are being coordinated.
Adult Education Mary Goplen Coffee serving sign up is now on line. Cookie Bakers are all listed on line. Concern brought
forth that there may not be coffee if no one signs up, and this is true. There is no coffee for Pace at present. Suggestion to order Free trade or Guatemalan Coffee.
Staff Support Mike Brengman Process of looking for office Manager. At present volunteers are staffing the office.
Youth Education Jess Hoeper VBS 8/-8/4 2016. Pre meeting for helpers is 6/8/2016 at 1830. Rally Sunday 9/11/2016 Committee Agenda: 1. Sunday School Curriculum, 2. Alternative times for Sunday school, 3.
Education day for Sunday School Teacher and Sheppard’s before classes start. When feedback is offered either positive or negative about Sunday school please encourage
the giver of feedback to speak with Pastor Marggi so concerns can be heard and explored.
Youth and Family Shirley Buck Senior Reception was last Sunday. The cost for the gift will be covered by the congregation. In
2017 there will be approximately 17 graduating and the gifts will be budgeted for by the council.
Car Hop Fund Raiser for Nashville. June 17, 2016. Prices will be suggested but a free will donation will be collected.
Mission Trip to Nashville July 15-22. 20 participants and 8 chaperones will be going.

Old Business Jessica farewell: Gift and card will be given to Jessica Ottem expressing thanks from the
