Big River Film Festival

4/5/6 are busily preparing their cinema literacy mov-ie entitled “Pikachu, I’m going to get you!” The chil-dren have been working very hard over the past two terms writing scripts, editing work using Adobe Premier Elements, filming, practicing, designing back-drops and learning about cinema literacy with Mrs Kowal. A HUGE THANKYOU to Olivia and Josslyn’s nan who kitted the Pokemon characters. They are fantastic. The film will be presented at the Big River Film Festival along with other schools at South Graf-ton High School Hall on Wednesday 23rd November. Unfortunately 4/5/6 will be at camp on that day so we will have our own private viewing before they leave. It’s great to see so much enthusiasm as the chil-dren engage in new learning.

CHARLOTTE’S WEB 2/3 have been involved in a Literacy Novel Study based on the book ‘Charlotte’s Web’ by E. B. White. They have also been looking at Arachnids with Mrs Connor during HSIE and building pig pens for STEM with Mrs Kowal. It is a very interesting unit of work and the children are thoroughly enjoying it.

MONSTERS RULE K/1 This term K/1 are involved in a Growing and Devel-oping unit for Science and PD/H. They are discussing how our bodies change and develop over time espe-cially with being active and healthy eating. The mon-ster theme in this area is showing how we are all dif-ferent but need the same things to be healthy and strong.

JACARANDA THURSDAY School will be open from 9:15 to 1pm on THURSDAY. School will be closed from 1 pm. NO BUSES WILL BE RUNNING TO PICK UP THE CHILDREN AT 1PM. Responsible Pet Talk

Transition to Year 2 went down to Responsible Pets this morning. It was in the library. At the library we learnt a safe way to approach a dog and what to do if you’re approached by an angry dog . Gina taught us this. Gina brought in her dog, Denim. At Gina’s farm she has twelve big dogs. Near the end of our turn learning everyone got to pat Denim. It was very interesting.
