En pocas semanas con-siguió ser disco de oro en Portugal,

y con el tiempo llegó a vender casi seis millones de copias en todo el mundo. El inicio no pudo ser me-jor, y le valió al artista la concesión de un premio Grammy a la Mejor Interpretación Latina.

El 29 de enero de 1997 salió a la venta Vivir, el segundo disco de larga duración del cantante, que para no ser menos vendió casi cinco millones de copias y confirmó plenamente el in-cipiente estrellato de Enrique.

5International Commerce Centre in China has an approximately 118 floors at 1,590 feet above the ground. It was a segment of the Union Square.

7Greenland Financial Center of Nanjing in China stands as high as 1,500 feet. It has approximately 89 floors. It has 72 observation floors at 940 feet or 287 meters above the ground.

2Mecca Clock Tower located in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, The tallest hotel in the world now also holds the record of being the runner up for tallest building in the World. It is 1,972 feet high.

4World Financial Center of Shanghai in China has a superb and massive structure that marks the economic development of China. This super high building in Shanghai has 93 floors.

6Twin Towers of Petronas in Malaysia is located in the heart of the country, Kuala Lumpur. It was ranked as the highest building in the world from the year 1998 until 2004. It is 1,483 feet high.

8Tower of Willis in USA was previously known as the tower of Sears. It has 108 floors or an approximately 1,450 feet. It was opened to the public last 1973 and known to be the tallest building during that time.

I was very young and naïve. I no-ticed Greg was behaving differently, but I had no idea what was going on with him. Greg’s behavior wors-ened. He became extremely jealous, paranoid, angry, depressed, and ir-responsible. One day, I caught him having a conversation with his tele-vision. That’s when I decided that I was no longer going to put myself through that. Many times when a loved one is going through a hard time we desperately want to “save them”. For months, I tried to “save

Greg”, but all in vain. I then realized that I could not save Greg; Greg had to save himself. Today I know the most important reason why I did not stay in the relationship: I love and respect myself. I did not want to stay in a toxic relationship, and I knew I deserved better.

How many times do we stay in a re-lationship that no longer serves us (or our partners)? We either stay because we hope they will change, feel bad for them, prefer feeling comfortable, or are afraid we will not find a better re-lationship. We fear the unknown and prefer to be miserable because at least we know what to expect. My Sicilian cousin, Gianni, was in a relationship for over 12 years, and for most of those years it had been an extremely toxic and unhealthy relationship. When I asked why he did not end it, he would always say he felt bad for her. I explained to Gianni that precisely for that reason it wasn’t fair to her, and that the best thing he could do was to end the relationship so she could move on and find someone who truly wanted to be with her. We are doing a disservice by stay-ing in relationships we know are going nowhere. Gianni was stand-

ing in the way of his own happiness. Subconsciously, he believed he did not deserve a healthy relationship and that it was too good to be true. It wasn’t until he opened up to the possibility that perhaps his true soul mate was out there waiting for him and understood that relationships are not meant to be a struggle and full of pain. By the grace of God, I convinced him, and he is now in a healthy, loving relationship and re-cently got engaged. Gianni cannot thank me enough. His ex-girlfriend

is now free to find her soul mate as well, rather than staying with some-one who simply pitied her.

Too many people live in what I like to call a “life coma.” It seems as if they are living, but they really aren’t. They are just going through the motions. They are in loveless relationships, but make excuses as to why they should stay. “I am doing it for the kids” is a very popular excuse. Quite frankly, I think the best example we can give to our children is to be in loving, positive relationships even if it’s not mommy with daddy. Our chil-dren can sense when we are unhappy, so we are setting the example of sacri-fice to our children. In essence, we are saying that you must stay in a relation-ship even if you are miserable for the sake of the kids.

I expected Greg to eventually re-turn healed, so that we could finally get married. However, life had other plans. Months later, I started dating a lovely man named George, fell in love, and for over 12 years we have been going strong. Had you told me at that train station that Greg was not the one I was meant to marry and that some-one else was my soul mate, I would have thought you were insane. I be-

lieved it with my heart and soul that he was the one. Now I know the true meaning of love, and I could not have chosen a better partner.

Most people go from one relation-ship to the next. Their deepest fear is to be alone. They act like monkeys; hanging on to the next branch before they let go of the first branch. I do not recommend this. I believe it is essen-tial to take some time off and reflect on the last relationship. We cannot simply blame our ex-partners for what went wrong. We must see what part

we played in the relationship as well. Only then, will we truly grow. Chew on this for a bit: are you always attracting partners that cheat, or lie, or criticize you, or___? Then is it safe to say that you have strong beliefs around these issues. If you are always saying things such as “men are all cheaters” please realize that that is exactly what you are going to attract in your life. Our egos want to prove us right, so we keep at-tracting the same type of people. This all happens on a subconscious level. The only way to break the pattern and avoid this from happening is to do the inner work. Stop looking for your other half, you are not broken! And stop saying you need someone to “complete” you. The more you work on yourself the more you will attract an amazing partner. Alan Co-hen says, “When you fall in love with yourself, you will be irresistible to everyone else.”

Please do not settle for less. We are all meant to have blissful, lov-ing, and respectful relationships.

Su objetivo principal es el de llevar ayuda a familias necesitadas, no sólo en Maywood, CA, sino tam-bién en las comunidades circunveci-nas. “Maywood for All Foundation” fue creada por Eric Díaz en septiembre del 2011 tras una campaña política en la que no logró ganar, pero que sí le abrió los ojos a la carencia que existe de necesidades básicas en grandes segmentos de la comunidad latina. Díaz, nacido en Torrance, California de padres mexicanos, fue criado en México y al regresar a EE.UU.,su país de origen, ha tenido que luchar como todo inmigrante por salir adelante. Sin embargo, siempre se ha propues-to grandes metas, la más reciente siendo la de expandir su fundación.

Además, se ha propuesto llevar su ayuda a personas que necesitan este tipo de apoyo en otros países. “Yo aporto la fundación y todos los gastos” dijo Díaz. “Quiero seguir ayudando donde podamos dar ayuda, hasta en Honduras, Guatemala y México.”

Estamos en época de cocinar pavo en Estados Unidos, por el Día de Acción de Gracias y nada mejor que ponerle un toque latino a la fiesta:

PREPARACIÓN:• Desmenuzar el chorizo y poner en un sartén con un poco de aceite de olivo.• Agregar el apio picado, la zanahoria picada y la cebolla blanca picada.• Incorporar el caldo de pollo y el pan de maíz. Llega a la gran pantalla la película del oscarizado cineasta Peter Jackson: El hobbit: Un viaje inesperado, la primera de las trilogía de la adaptación cinematográfica de la gran y popular obra maestra El hobbit, de J.R.R. Tolkien. La segunda película se llamará El hobbit: Partida y regreso.

Los guionistas tanto de El hobbit: Un viaje inesperado, como El hobbit: Partida y re-greso son Fran Walsh, Philippa Boyens, Guillermo del Toro y Peter Jackson. Jackson también es productor de las películas, junto con Fran Walsh y Car-olynne Cunningham. Alan Horn, Ken Kamins, Toby Emmerich y Zane Weiner son los producto-res ejecutivos, con Boyens como

coproductor.Jackson está rodando la

trilogía a la vez en 3D digital, uti-lizando las últimas tecnologías de imagen y sonido. El rodaje se lleva a cabo en Stone Street Stu-dios, Wellington, y en distintos lugares de Nueva Zelanda.

Las ondas que genera la an-tena de un móvil y otros equipos de telecomunicaciones, conocidas como campos de radiofrecuencia o electromagnéticos, se encuen-tran por debajo del umbral límite determinado por las auto-ridades. Dicho límite se estableció porque los campos por encima de una determinada potencia provocan un calentamiento dañino de los tejidos humanos. Pero incluso si los móviles superaran ese límite, no habría riesgo de cáncer.

La investigación fue encargada por el gobierno noruego, que había percibido un aumento de la preocu-pación ciudadana sobre este tema tras la publicación de estudios sen-sacionalistas y de escasa fiabilidad publicados anteriormente.

El comité de expertos encargado de llevarla a cabo ha despejado to-das las dudas: ni los móviles, ni el WiFi, ni otros emisores similares de ondas electromagnéticas cau-san cáncer, infertilidad masculina,

otros daños reproductivos o enfer-medades en el sistema endrocrino o inmune.

La mayoría de informes previos sobre la relación entre telefonía móvil y cáncer se centraron en la

cabeza y el cuello, pero la in-vestigación de este grupo

noruego no ha encontrado evidencia alguna para asociar los móviles al tumor cerebral. Los reg-istros de cáncer no han

aumentado desde que se popularizó el teléfono móvil

por estas razones. Tampoco es cierto que este tipo de terminales provoquen hipersensibilidad elec-tromagnética como se había queri-do hacer creer.

¿Quiere esto decir que la hiper-sensibilidad electromagnética no existe? El director del estudio, Jan Alexander, no va tan lejos. "No ten-emos bases para afirmar que los síntomas sean imaginarios. Pero un gran número de estudios sugieren que dichos síntomas deben tener otras causas que los efectos físicos de los campos electromagnéticos de baja intensidad."

The Obama Administration announced today that it will grant deferred action to undocumented youth who were brought to the United States as small children and who have been raised and educated in communities around the country.Today's announcement builds on the prosecutorial discretion initiatives already undertaken by the White House and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and was done to ensure that eligible young people do not fall through the cracks, that resources are used wisely, and that humanitarian factors are considered when enforcing our immigration laws.Deferred action is not permanent legal status or citizenship but rather a way to allow those young people, who have been in this country since they were young, to complete their education, continue their military service or begin their careers. The grant of deferred action will be issued on a case-by-case basis and is renewable every two years.

According to the numbers provided by Smart Media Group, an organiza-tion that traces political publicity, the efforts of the campaign for the Latin community will cost 25 million dollars distributed on 9 key states like Nevada, Colorado and Florida. During the elec-tions of 2008, only in those 3 states, the Obama team destined 850 thousand dollars and it worked. Back then, they were promoting the policies on educa-tion, and this time, the ads are focusing on health care.

On the other side of the American politics, the Republican Party is moving forward with the help of “Targeted Vic-tory” who is working with Mitt Romney and was responsible in the campaign of Marco Rubio on his way to the Senate. Former Cuban leader Fidel Castro suffered a ce-rebral hemorrhage and his state of health is so pre-carious that he has trouble feeding, speaking and rec-ognizing people, said a Ven-ezuelan physician who as-sured El Nuevo Herald that he has access to firsthand sources and information.

“He suffered an embolic stroke and recognizes ab-solutely no one,” said José Marquina, a respected doctor who in the past has claimed to have direct in-formation about the illness affecting President Hugo Chávez of Venezuela.

“The people with a con-dition of this nature have difficulty eating and, of course, they end up with total deficit in their neuro-logic capacities.”

Rumors about Castro’s health have circulated con-sistently in social networks and the media. But the spec-ulations intensified recently, to the point that word spread that he had died and that the Cuban government would make an official announce-ment to that effect.

Castro was last seen in public in March, during the visit to Cuba of Pope Benedict XVI. Since June, he has not written his opinion columns, called “Reflections.” He did not send any message or con-gratulation to Chávez for his recent election victory.

Castro is in his home in El Laguito, Havana, receiving constant and specialized medical care, Marquina said. The idea of the Cuban authorities and Castro’s family is to maintain him alive and far from public view, the doc-tor said.

“He could last weeks like that, but what I can say is that we’ll never again see him in public,” said Mar-quina in a telephone inter-view.

What do Hula girls, haute couture, and impersonators of dead celebri-ties have in common? One eclectic, glorious evening of fun at the Rock and Roll Fashion Show on October 12, 2012. The attendees found them-selves up in Shadow Hills in this fab-ulous mansion spilling with artifacts of rock and roll. One would think from being so far from the city a per-son would experience a Halloween tale of shadowy ghosts lurking in the dozens upon dozens of rooms where J.J. Dalton may have slipped behind a bookshelf or Burgandi Phoenix fell into a mirror, but the evening was full of chipper chatter as the guests sipped on the delicious island-intoxi-cations of Hula Girls.

Guests were taken even further from the mansion to the islands with

tropical designs of arrangements by the talented florist, Cindi Bushnell. The mesmerizing colors of alcohol captured under a microscope by Bev Shots and set on un-usual art canvases, such as the coasters adorning the bar, certainly tied together the vibrancy of the islands with the eeriness of Octo-ber. However, the only haunting would be that of impersonators striking devil-ish comparisons to Marylin Monroe and Michael Jackson, to name a few. That and the enchantment of Samira Kazemeni’s spell-bounding jewelry celebrities touted on the red carpet. Not to be out done in pizazz, Onofre Floral designs rocked the party with a free-standing guitar of flowers in honor of the event.

Alicia Dahl brought many celebri-ties onto the red carpet. Celebrities such as Reatha Grey, Bill Zucker, and

Robert Burton kept the party go-ing by sipping on Monsters

or Hubert’s yummy lem-onade. While playing “I spy with one’s little eye” the trendy creations of designer, Caroline

Hallack, could be seen. Guests also reveled in the

famous and fiendishly ad-dictive apple cobbler and sweet

potato pie from the famous Mommie Helen’s Bakery. The delicious food just made this a perfect autumn evening. Mmmm! Trick or treat came very early with this bewitching event.
