It’shardtobelievetheSummerhasendedandwearenowenteringtheFall.Ihopeeveryoneenjoyedtheirsummerandhadanopportunitytoexperiencethesightsandsoundsofourgreattown.BynowyouhaveseentheScarecrowsalongMarketStreet–specialthankstotheGeorgetownArts&Flowersgroupfororganizingthisyear’seventandgettinglocalbusinessesinvolved.EarlyOctoberwewelcomeWings‐and‐Wheels,soonafterthatitwillbeThanksgivingthenourAnnualChristmasParade.TheTownCouncilisveryproudofourcommunityandtakepridethatresidentsarecomfortableraisingissuesandaskingquestions.

FoodTruckTuesdayswasapilotprogramfor ivemonths(May–September)asawaytodrawcrowdsdowntownduringlunchhour.Wereceivedalotofpositivecommentsandpeoplewantmore.Weseethisasacomplementtoourlocalrestaurants,offeringtheoccasionalspecialtreat.

ThisSummerseemedasthoughitwasoneoftheworstfortraf icinandaroundTown.Currentlytherearethreemajorprojectsinvariousstagesofdesign,whichwillhopefullyeasesomeofthetraf ic.First,theGeorgetownEastGatewayImprovements(EastMarketStreet,SandHillRoad,AirportRoad,andLewesGeorgetownHighway).Second,ParkAvenueRealignment–PhaseI(SouthBedfordStreetandArrowSafetyRoad).Finally,aGradeSeparatedIntersectionatSeashoreHighway(18/404)andUSRoute113.TheseareallDelDOTprojectsbene itingourTown.Thetraf icisagoodthingbecauseithasslowedpeopledownandmadethemlookatpotentialopportunityhereinGeorgetown.

I’dliketotakesometimetomentionourtownemployees.WehavesomehardworkingpeoplewhocareabouttheTown,it’sresidents,andthosewhovisithere.Ifyougetachance,pleasethankthemfortheirserviceanddedicationtoourcommunity.
