Summer 2018 Youth Conservation Corps Jobs Available at Redwood National and State Parks: Redwood National and State Parks is seeking enthusiastic
local youth age 15 to 18 to apply for Youth Conservation Corps (YCC) jobs this summer. This highly successful program offers local teens a chance to participate
in conservation work throughout the Redwood National and State Parks. This year’s eight-week begins on June 25, 2018, and ends on August 17, 2018. A total of
four young men and four young women will be selected from Humboldt and Del Norte counties at a public drawing. Participants will be paid the California
minimum wage of $11.00 per hour for a 40-hour work week. Position entails: Constructing and maintain trails and bridges; removing invasive plant species;
performing maintenance around historic structures; and assisting park hydrologists, fisheries biologists, and fire management fire staff. Participants will be
required to do hard physical work, hike long distances and may be exposed to insects, poison oak, adverse weather, and difficult working conditions. Natural and
cultural resource education is incorporated into the eight-week program. Qualifications: All participants must bring their own lunch and provide their own
transportation to and from either the parks headquarters building in Crescent City or the National Park Service’s Arcata office. If interested: To apply, interested

Volunteer Client Advocate: Harrington House is seeking a qualified Volunteer Client Advocates. The Volunteer Client Advocate is responsible for responding to
and assessing domestic violent victim’s needs. Required to perform routine procedures such as: client assessments, intakes, referrals, client needs, and exit
interview and discharge. Provide crisis intervention and peer counseling. Maintain confidentiality of client information at all times. Household chores including
but not limited to; laundry, room cleaning, dishes, bathroom cleaning, event preparation, and clean up required to keep house running smoothly. Other duties as
assigned. Must have 40-hour Domestic Violence Training completion certificate or ability to obtain this training (Harrington House Will provide 40 hour required
training), Bi-lingual individual highly desired. Must be able to pass a background check, drug screening test, fingerprinting and pass CPR/First Aid training. Must
be able to use office program and computers, in addition, the ability to respond reliably, professionally, and consistently under pressure. To apply or for additional
