Top 10 Internet Marketing Tips by Ralph Reyes | on April 3, 2013

Here are my Top 10 Internet Marketing Tips to help you market your website and be successful online. Internet Marketing is an ever-changing industry. In fact, many people would be hard pressed to find things that worked a couple of years ago that work today. It’s the

nature of the beast. However – if there’s a will, there’s a way. Even though it may be a little tough to keep up with the effective strategies of today, there still are some

fantastic things that you can do to make your website – or websites – successful.

Here, we’ll break down some of the most popular concepts that we’ve found to be great for people who may need a little help. These tips are broad, but still effective

enough to work in any virtual or niche that you’re currently working in.

The Top 10 Internet Marketing Tips to Drive Your Business!

1. User Friendly Websites

There’s nothing better than a user-friendly website. Having something that people can’t navigate easily is a thing of the past. It simply won’t do. People on the Internet

are impatient. They want their content quickly, and they won’t hesitate to move to the next website on the list if they feel as if you didn’t logically plan your website.

They want to know what you have to offer them as soon as they put their eyeballs on your page.

It benefits you in more ways than you think. You’re going to need a user friendly website so they can comment on any posts that you have. If you’re lucky, they may

even sign up for your opt-in list – if you have one. There’s a reason why this is the first thing on the list. If you don’t have a user friendly website, you can’t hope to do

all that well in Internet Marketing. Unless – of course – you’re working in an area where you don’t need a website. Unfortunately, not many of us are.

2. Use Social Networking

Page 2: Top 10 internet marketing tips

Social networking is a must for all Internet Marketers. Regardless of what you’re using, there’s a chance for you to get free traffic to your website. While it’s not

important for you to have personal accounts for every popular social networking site, it’s in your best interest to have company accounts for Twitter, Facebook, and

LinkedIn. Not only will you be able to market some of your wares with these social networking properties, you can also connect with the people who want to know

more about your company. Also, you can even talk shop.

The truth is that everyone uses social networking. As such, your company needs to be well-represented there. Also, Facebook is considered to be one of the best

advertising platforms out there. It’s not hard to target your specific demographics and buy ads for a relatively cheap price. While you may not be at that point, it may

be something to think about in the future. The most important thing is to build awareness, and that’s exactly what a strong social media presence does.

3. Publish an eBook

Freebies are important to marketing. Some companies assuredly do not have the same ability as others, but most can develop something to offer. An eBook is a tried

and true method, commonly used by those in the “make money online” niche. While one may think that the market is pretty inundated in that regard – it’s not. People

still love getting free stuff. If there’s good enough content in the eBook, you can expect to receive a positive response. However, it’s really not just about giving away

free stuff to drum up an interest.

It’s more about demonstrating your ability and your knowledge of any given industry. It also gives you the ability to say that you’re a published author, provided you

go the Kindle route. Using their Direct Publish platform, you can publish your work for people to download on their eReaders. With a little formatting and writing

prowess, you can put your work in front of millions of people. It may take a little work, but it’s a worthwhile tip for any Internet Marketer. If you’re not a natural

writer, there are more than enough available on websites and forums about the Internet.

4. Keep Your Website Organized

This is a tip that could have gone above, but it’s probably best as a standalone. People have the habit of producing a lot of good stuff and kind of letting the

organization slip a little bit. Not only is this detrimental to your business, it will most definitely scare off prospective buyers of your services. It’s important to keep

Page 3: Top 10 internet marketing tips

your website organized. It’s not only for people, either. Search engines are structured to break down a website in a certain way. It’s important that they can read your

website without having to double-take.

5. Keep Pumping Good Content

Make no mistake about it – content is still king. It’s important for your website to always have an influx of good content. Articles and blogs should always be rolling

out. Some people say that it should be multiple times a day, others say every other day. Regardless of the difference in opinion, it’s important that you have something

pretty regularly. There really is no such thing as too much content, as long as it’s unique and compelling to the people who would be visiting your website.

Good content is what separates the good websites from the bad ones. For example, let’s break down the writer’s market a bit. Some of the best websites are paying

great content producers a premium to produce stuff for their websites. Some even as much as $1 per word. There’s a reason why the prices are so high – they can do

some stellar things for their website. The market dictates cost. While you don’t necessarily have to pay someone that much – or even pay a content writer at all – it

tells the tale.

6. Style

It’s important to pay attention to the style of your website. Not only does it have to be organized for people and search engines, it also has to look good. People enjoy

aesthetics. Not only does it build an innate credibility with the people who see it, it’ll also make them more susceptible to buying things from it. It may not be the most

important tip on the list, but we’d be remiss if it wasn’t brought up. Try to make it sleek, but you don’t necessarily have to go overboard.

If anything, it’s about making it easy to read and inspect all of the elements on the site. Things like black backgrounds with white texts simply will not work well here.

All caps are also no good. Be sure that you’re receptive to people who may have sensitive eyes, as well as those who may been around the Internet for a while. People

respect websites that are sensible, stylish, and not an assault on the eyes. While we’re at it, please try your best to ensure that your website doesn’t automatically play

sound.

7. Understand Effective Internet Marketing Concepts

Page 4: Top 10 internet marketing tips

SEO? PPC? CPA? It’s important to understand the various Internet Marketing concepts out there. You may not need to implement all of them for your particular

website, but you should know how they can help you. Alternatively, you should also understand how they can hurt your bottom line. Beginner Internet Marketers

often times get wrapped up in what they should use, how they should use them, and whether or not they’re using them correctly. This is natural, but we say this to

make a point.

One or two things can and will continue to happen for Internet Marketers. One, they will continue to read and possibly never pull the trigger and jump into it. Two,

there’s the opportunity for them to get into something where they end up losing money and time. As you would expect, both of these things are terrible for one’s

business. If you have a solid understanding of all of the concepts, you’ll be better equipped in the end.

8. Build Real Links

Your website will need links. This is the lifeblood of search engines. While there are other factors, people still consider this to be the defining element of where your

website will be listed. People have been buying links for a while – however – this is a practice that the leading search engines (namely Google) have been trying to

stop. As such, it’s generally not a good idea to buy links or conduct in any shady business involving links. It’s simply not a good idea, and it is one that can get you

heavily penalized by the search engines.

Instead, it’s encouraged that people build their links the white-hat way. Connect with people in your industry and work out a deal in some way. Get people talking

about your products via social media. Do whatever you can to foster these relationships. It’ll build you some links and some credibility in the industry. This is integral

to the process – it doesn’t pay to do it the wrong way anymore.

9. Mobile Compatibility

It’s not a secret that we’re glued to our phones these days. Most people can’t go 5 minutes without looking at it. Also, who doesn’t have a phone? Even the most

novice of marketers can understand why it’s important for a website to have a mobile version. We’re all relying on them for just about anything, and we’re seeing

more and more people use them to make purchases. Why not your product?

Also, some people feel as if it’s expensive to have a mobile website constructed. While it can in some instances, it’s not true for all. Depending on where you look,

you may be able to find some plugins to install on your website to make it mobile friendly. If you can do it with just a little digging around on the Internet, it’s really a

no-brainer. With millions of people around the world toting mobile phones, you stand to make a profit on a few of them if you have a mobile version of your website.

10. Nurture Relationships

You – more than likely – have a lot of competition. There may be only a few things that separate you from the rest of them. It’s important for a company to be able to

foster and nurture good relationships with the people who buy from them. Always remember that these people are the way that you pay your bills and create your

financial stability. It’s important to send them emails after their purchase, answer their inquiries, and provide them tips on how to use their products. Customer service

seems to be a forgotten art on the Internet. It makes sense – we’re not standing face to face.

Provide the best possible experience – and if you can – make them almost feel obligated to buy from you. Killing them with kindness is effective in many respects,

and it definitely goes a long way in marketing. Just make sure that they feel appreciated and they’ll come back to you when they need something relevant.

Conclusion These tips will definitely go a long way in helping a marketer make some inroads to success. While some may be more beneficial than others, we do think that there is

the chance that everyone can find something here that they appreciate. While the success garnered from these tips may not come immediately, implementing them in

your business is integral to success in the future. Be sure to be receptive to other tips found on the Internet, as they can go a long way in building some perspective.
