The Value and Future of Prostate Brachytherapyin a Changing Healthcare EnvironmentDecember 7-8, 2013MD Anderson Cancer Center, Dan L. Duncan Building (CPB) Floor 8 Conference Center, 1155 Pressler Street, Houston, Texas

GoalThe conference intends to convince clinicians to change to a standardized process of quality assurance for prostate brachytherapy using MRI-based treatment planning and MRI-based post-implant evaluation. We aim to remove the subjective nature of brachytherapy treatment with definable objective parameters. We further intend to define the value of prostate brachytherapy in the emerging healthcare system based on patient reported outcomes measures and standardized costing methodologies.

Educational ObjectivesAfter attending this conference, participants should be able to•Incorporatethemodelforvalueforprostatebrachytherapyinthenewhealthcare

environment (knowledge, competence, performance);•Applyaprocessofqualityassuranceinprostatebrachytherapyinclinical

practice (knowledge, competence, performance, patient outcomes);•InterpretthediseaseoutcomesfollowingHighDoseRateandLowDoseRate
