Ministerial Selection Team News
The Ministerial Selection Team has been working with Julie Lobato from Centers for Spiritual Living. Rev Lobato is guiding us through the process, beginning with our profile. The profile we assemble will in-clude vital information about United Life CSL, including physical space, financial, personnel and community, leadership, and the Oklahoma City area.
We will keep the United Life community updated on a monthly/biweekly basis, as we progress. We will reach out via newsletter, email, and announcements at Sunday service.

You are guided by love, inspired by truth, and your future will be what you make it.
- This Thing Called You, by Ernest Holmes
3
Hello Friends,
Over the past few months, we’ve been examining our new minister affirmations in more depth. We’re in the home stretch now, with only two remaining, and it was tough to choose which one to study this time! In the end, the one that spoke to me was:
I am applying the healing power of love to reveal wholeness and perfection.
I particularly like this affirmation because it echoes our purpose of wholeness. And as it turns out, this unassuming-looking affirmation is a powerhouse!
When we looked at our covenant affirmation regarding living life as Love, we referred to the qualities of love listed in 1 Corinthians. This month’s affirmation mentions yet another quali-ty: that love heals. Love makes us whole and sound again. One definition I found for “heal” is “to make good again.” I’m tempted to rewrite this definition as “to make Good again,” be-
cause healing causes what is untrue about us to fall away. Healing restores us to oneness with God, and thus with one another; this is true for us individually, and for our Center.
Notice that this healing power appears when we apply it. That means it requires action on our part to bring it forth. Think about Ernest Holmes’ famous statement, “There is a Power for good in the universe, greater than you are, and you can use it.” That Power is the Law, of course. When we choose to live life as love (another of our new minister affirmations), we fix our focus on all that is good. The Law acts on our belief in the power of love to create love, which strengthens our belief, which creates even more love! And again, this transformation is possible not only for us, but for all who are touched by love.
Last, we see that when we actively apply love, the resulting healing is complete; we are whole and perfect. One definition of “reveal” is “to lay open to view.” I love the idea of our perfection being visible to all, like a beacon, leading all to love and their own perfection. How exciting that we are lights for one another, and for our Center!"
I found an unorthodox description of perfection that focuses on evolution and change. It says, “Society’s defini-tion of perfection is something complete, but this is impossible because nothing is ever complete; it’s always in a state of constant change. People don’t sit there and watch the sun during the day in the sky. They either watch to see the sun set, or watch the sun rise, as it is always in a state of constant change. That is perfec-tion” (UrbanDictionary.com). This description really captures the concept behind our covenant purpose, that “wholeness remains the same, no matter how much it changes.”
I also ran across a beautiful essay Ernest Holmes wrote about love and perfection, and I’d like to close with the spiritual mind treatment within it:
I believe that Love is at the center of everything; therefore, I accept Love as the healing power of life. I permit Love to reach out from me to every person I meet. I believe that Love is returned to me from every person I meet. I trust the guidance of Love because I believe it is the power of Good in the universe. I feel that Love is flowing through me to heal every situation I meet, to help every person I contact. Love opens the way before me and makes it perfect, straight, and glad … I put my whole trust in Love, which I feel to be everywhere present, within, around, and through me – within, around, and through all people. In that Love I am safe, secure, and cared for” (365 Science of Mind, #28, “Goodness Flows from Me”).
Happy June, everyone! As school lets out and summer vacation season begins, I wish you safe travels and happy
memories. Blessings, Linda Weston

Times of doing nothing rejuvenate me. Being deeply relaxed feels good for a reason. 4
“The Mind of God is seeking to find those of Its creation who are willing to release the past, live in the present with new ideas,
and plan a creative future for themselves.”
The Science of Successful Living - Raymond Charles Barker
As you read today you will find two new pictures, one of Larissa, Josh, and Iris, and one of Iris taking a big yawn getting ready for the day. How excited we are to have Iris Rain as our newest member of United Life. Starting their new family is a perfect exam-ple of the above quote.
Here at United Life we are so blessed to continually fill our space with new and exciting millennials. They come with new ideas, new dreams, and new energy. They seem
to have a deepened understanding of how we must release the past to plan a new future. There is a sense of willingness within them that even when they are faced with fear they reach deep and make a connection with Spirit to move through it.
My heart is filled with gratitude to have this newness present in my life. If you are one of the members who has been here a long time, take a moment to reach out
and spend some time with some of these more recent members of our Center. Take someone under your wing and share with them your vast knowledge of how Science of Mind does work. Give them a hand up.
This philosophy has enriched my life beyond measure and I know this true for many of you. Let us be the melting pot for the young and the old. Let us learn and grow together so we are all lifted up in this sacred holy place we call home, United Life Center for Spiritual Living.
Bless all of you.

United Life CSL Women’s Group
The turnout was fabulous for the organizational meeting of the newly formed ULCSL
Women’s Group. Our first “real” meeting will take place June 16, 2019, the third
Sunday of June. We will meet in the Social Hall at 12:15 for about 30 to 45
minutes. Agenda items for this first meeting are:
Brainstorm a clever name for our group
Suggest a focus or projects for group work
All women who attend United Life Center for Spiritual Living (and friends of such)
are welcome to attend. The first meeting will be chaired by Deanie Wright.
We look forward to seeing you!

Spirituality in Action is our yearlong voluntary theme. June brings us the topic, “Protect the Vulnerable” and the value of empowerment. The Centers using these themes are working together to create a world that works for everyone. As each participating community actively teaches and demonstrates these principles, we are shining the light of awareness on Love, Oneness, and Wholeness in our lives, families, and communities. The more we are focused on these ideas and values, in our day to day and moment to moment practice, the more transformed our lives become.
Each individual expression of God, (you and I), is necessary and important in the expression of the Whole. As we individually expand in Love, remembering our True Nature and the same of everyone else, in every mo-ment and activity of our relationship to the Whole, we are eliminating everything that doesn’t serve the Whole. Our part can only be done by our Self; The Self that chooses to remember in every moment to allow Love to prevail over any perceived darkness, injustice or harm of any sort.
United Life is transforming right now even in the absence of a full time spiritual leader. Our small part-time staff, volunteer leaders, and joiners all in multiple roles are working to make United Life the metaphysical, open-minded, fun, demonstrating, prosperous and generous go-to community, and IT’S working! New life is springing up everywhere, with fresh ideas and changes. This is how we do it! TOGETHER!
Our mission and vision statement says in part, “we EMPOWER people to create happy, healthy, abundant lives.” In our community we support and empower people who desire to serve. We must each individually become what we desire. No better way to embody it than to jump in, ask questions, ask for a mentor, assis-tance, read the recommended books, do the practice, treatment and meditation. In an instant you are already doing it! It is a simple choice. First know you are empowered by God; it’s in you. If you do not know this, keep practicing, as you practice the direct experience will occur, and then you will know for the rest of in-finity and never have to question that quality within you ever again. Remember, it’s in the feeling. Feel it, be it. Information and knowledge can really only point us in a direction or toward an idea or activity. Direct experi-ence reveals our inner Wisdom. That is why practicing is so important.
The Science of Mind point of view is, Empowerment comes with internal cultivated devotion to one’s value in the world. Rev. David Ault wrote about trust and honesty in his outline for June 6, “Without a cultivated trust in the intangible becoming tangible, we continue a painful lineage of only hoping for outcomes.” He further states, “If we are not honest about our challenges through process of divine curiosity, then we will never evolve at a new and globally demanding rhythm.”

Gene Wall Cole is an author, recording artist, profes-sional adventurer and storyteller. He is a respected mu-sician, having played with B.B. King, Neil Young, Waylon Jennings, and many other musicians. He is a graduate of several 12-step programs who has over-come drug and alcohol addiction. Wall has come to new spiritual awareness through two near death experi-ences and his Attention Deficit Disorder.
This book tells of Gene Wall Cole's life adventures as he literally turned from death's door and renewed his spirit, coming back from drugs and alcohol and devot-ing his life to helping others come back. Wall and his book have given people a reason to go on, to forgive themselves and others for their past, and to focus on their future. One CD, “Chameleon,” accompanies the book, which can be read by itself.
The Chameleon: A spiritual adventure through wine, women & song. A Musical Memoir by Gene Wall Cole. 1998, Awakening Imaginations Inc. Asheville, North Carolina.
It is a marvelous true-life adventure told with the rigor-ous honesty and humor of a modern day 'alchemist of sound' who changes leaden vibrations to golden through his words and music - and in so doing discov-ers that his calling is to help others in awakening their imaginations.
Notable comments on “The Chameleon”:
Mark Victor Hansen (Co-author #1 New York Times bestselling Chicken Soup For the Soul series): "If you're into listening to a guy who is tuned in and turned on to a higher level wisdom, then you'll enjoy the man, his music, and reading his book."
The Dalai Lama: "Gene's music is the first meeting between east and west in musical vibration; it will heal many people."

As a community, we come together because we are attracted to the vibrational frequency of the teaching, the community, or both. We add to that, compassion, non-judgment, helpfulness and Love by being welcoming and inviting to each and every person. We make a safe, nurturing space to Love and expand, revealing the True Nature of All.
If you feel called to step into something new at United Life, we wholeheartedly invite you to join in expand-ing consciousness. You will make a difference and we are happy to receive your gifts and talents and join with you. Together we make a difference. Our Good belongs to everyone.
If you feel called, there are many volunteer opportunities: Greeters, teachers, audio tech; stage assistant; build-ing and grounds team; hospitality and kitchen; communications; fundraising and stewardship; SOP and hand-book editors; bookstore; the opportunities are infinite. Join us!
Love and richest blessings, Tammy Tittle, R.Sc.P.

I’m a work in progress, treating myself gently as I change and learn from each experience. 8
United Life Sacred New Minister Covenant
There is only one Life! • This Life is good! This Life is God! • This Life is my Life now!
GOD IS THE WHOLENESS THAT I AM.*
For it is written: “Wholeness remains the same no matter how much it changes.” **
As I stand in agreement with my beloved Community, I see my new minister revealed before me as: GUIDING UNITED LIFE TO GROW IN LOVE AND JOY.
I now intend to experience my new minister in full cooperation and agreement with my Community, knowing this truth about myself, for:
I am inspiring all to live life as Love. I am creatively awakening the wisdom in myself and demonstrating Spiritual Principles. I am applying the healing power of Love to reveal wholeness and perfection. I am effectively applying Spiritual Principles and vision to meet community, organizational, and
personal responsibilities. I am creating an atmosphere that manifests abundance, prosperity, and gratitude.
As I now accept the highest expression of a new minister in my life, I know that they will be revealed in a way that will glorify God and serve the highest and greatest good of all who are touched by their presence.
I am grateful God is gracious! So be it now!

Youth & Family Ministries News
Nursery: As we shared last month, we had hired Natalie in March. We are now saying goodbye to her as she prepares to move to Arkansas. Fortunately, Linda Weston knew someone to suggest as a re-placement. As of May 19, our current nursery worker is Krystal Cash. She is a high school student and girlfriend of Caleb Weston. Her family background includes lots of time with younger siblings; she has career interest in Early Education. Please say hello to her and help her feel welcome.
Sunday School: There is still an opportunity for one or more people to join the Teaching Team - we are flexible as to which Sundays we can rotate. FYI: Any younger children stay in the Nursery while the older ones participate in the lesson. You will be shown the excellent teaching materials and re-sources and supported as part of the Sunday School Team. Please let Deanie or Mary know that you’re interested! We do ask that you will have completed the SOM course Foundations. FYI: Teach-ers are provided with a free CD of the service.
