Dear Residents, Parents and Friends, The School District of Haverford Township includes seven distinct schools with students from thousands of families who reside in many different communities, but we all have the same HAVERFORD PRIDE. Pride starts with our teachers who each year continue to train and grow into institutional leaders. Pride shows in the classroom where our teachers create quality educational opportunities every day for every student. Pride is evident in the distinct school cultures which all include a spirit of collaboration between parents, teachers and the greater community. Pride is on display as our athletic teams win with good sportsmanship. By far the best example of our Pride is our consistently high level of student achievement. Pride is academic achievement and community spirit put to work with grit. Recent research has defined the trait of grit as sticking with things over a very long-term until you master them. Grit is shown in hard work and determination. Students need grit to learn and grow in an ever changing world. The School Board, Administration and teachers need grit to meet the challenges of making a difference in the learning and lives of our students. Here at the School District of Haverford Township we will continue to use innovative tools, collaboration, training and hard work to promote student achievement and the love of learning. Each child deserves the opportunity to show their Pride to the world. The School District of Haverford Township Sincerely, William S. Keilbaugh, Ed.D. Superintendent of Schools
